The investment aims to enhance production capabilities, diversify product offerings, and position the company for long-term growth.

INDIA – Ruchira Papers Ltd, a well-established manufacturer of kraft paper and writing and printing paper, has announced plans to invest approximately INR 100 crore (US$11.61 million) in expanding its business operations.
This strategic move aims to enhance production capabilities, diversify product offerings, and position the company for long-term growth in both domestic and emerging markets.
Founded in 1980, Ruchira Papers has grown steadily, producing various grades of kraft paper, widely used in the packaging industry for corrugated boxes, and writing and printing paper used for educational, commercial, and stationery applications.
The company also manufactures specialty colored papers for items such as wedding cards, spiral notebooks, and children’s colouring books.
The investment announcement follows the company’s Q4 FY25 financial results, which reported revenues of INR 161 crore (US$18.70m), up slightly from INR 160 crore (US$18.58m) in Q4 FY24.
More notably, Profit After Tax (PAT) nearly doubled to INR 18.39 crore (US$2.14m), compared to INR 9.64 crore (US$1.12m) the previous year, reflecting improved operational efficiency and higher other income during the period.
Ruchira Papers continues to prioritize innovation and new product development as it adapts to shifting market needs and growing sustainability demands.
The company’s focus on diversifying its product range is evident in its latest introductions, which cater to both eco-conscious consumers and premium niche markets.
Among the recent launches are Leher and Neer, two specially developed cup stock papers designed for the manufacture of eco-friendly disposable cups.
These products align with the increasing global push towards reducing plastic usage in foodservice packaging.
By offering paper-based alternatives that are compatible with sustainable manufacturing practices, Ruchira is tapping into a rapidly growing segment that values both functionality and environmental responsibility.
In addition to solutions for the food and beverage sector, Ruchira has expanded its footprint in the premium paper segment with the introduction of Mogra.
This premium-grade paper is crafted specifically for high-end applications such as luxury wedding cards and formal invitations.
With a refined texture and superior printability, Mogra caters to customers seeking elegance and sophistication for special occasions.
These product innovations reflect Ruchira Papers’ commitment to delivering value through quality, sustainability, and versatility, positioning the company as a responsive and forward-thinking player in the paper manufacturing industry.
The company’s manufacturing facility in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, boasts a robust installed capacity of 91,800 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) for kraft paper and 60,000 MTPA for writing and printing paper.
