ITALY – Sidel has launched an online Aseptic Knowledge Centre to support manufacturers in the rapidly expanding market for long-shelf-life beverages like juices, teas, ready-to-drink products, isotonics, and liquid dairy.
This resource hub shares Sidel’s 50 years of expertise in aseptic packaging through case studies, industry insights, sustainability efforts, and updates on the latest innovations.
Over the past five decades, aseptic packaging has transitioned from complex, clean-room-dependent systems to streamlined, efficient solutions.
One key example is Sidel’s Predis system, a dry aseptic preform sterilization technology that simplifies sterilization by keeping it localized to the container. The system then runs in a regular blow-molding environment.
In the Aseptic Knowledge Centre, manufacturers can explore such solutions’ safety features and performance standards, including Sidel’s aseptic combined systems, which enhance product integrity and food safety.
The centre also provides insights into Sidel’s packaging innovations, such as the ultra-small, ultra-light PET bottle designed for liquid dairy, which offers manufacturers a competitive edge.
“Food safety and extended product shelf life are top priorities for the aseptic packaging industry,” says Damien Fournier, Sidel’s Vice President of Sensitive Portfolio.
“With our new Aseptic Knowledge Centre, we’re providing a platform for sharing our expertise and advancements in aseptic technology to address these critical concerns.”
Optimizing efficiency through agility and intelligent systems
Sidel’s Aseptic Knowledge Centre also emphasizes the importance of operational flexibility in meeting evolving industry demands.
Sidel’s systems support quick changeovers and compatibility with various packaging formats, from simple manual adjustments to fully automated solutions, while maintaining sterility.
Real-time monitoring and data analytics, such as through Sidel’s Qual-IS system, enhance production efficiency by providing advanced traceability and quality assurance, reducing human error, and facilitating streamlined lab processes.
Focus on simplicity and sustainability
The Knowledge Centre highlights Sidel’s commitment to ease of use and environmental sustainability.
Sidel’s systems are designed to be user-friendly, with simplified maintenance features that minimize downtime, ensuring cost efficiency and long-term reliability for clients.
Furthermore, the Centre shares Sidel’s initiatives for sustainable packaging, such as transitioning from traditional PET to recycled PET and introducing aseptic technologies that reduce energy consumption and waste.
“Sidel’s vast experience in sensitive beverage packaging makes us a preferred partner for manufacturers aiming to improve efficiency in the competitive aseptic market,” adds Fournier.
“Our Aseptic Knowledge Centre is a comprehensive resource of case studies and expert guidance, showcasing our commitment to innovation and industry support.”
Through this online hub, Sidel invites manufacturers to access information, helping them stay competitive while advancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability in aseptic packaging.
