The machine has been running on the company shopfloor since December 2024.

INDIA – Sierra Innovations has strengthened its digital printing capabilities with the installation of a Konica Minolta AccurioPress C7100, reinforcing its focus on consistent print quality and reliable production.
The press has been operational at the company’s facility since December 2024 and is already supporting daily, high-volume print requirements.
According to Arpit Bansal, co-founder and director at Sierra Innovations, the decision was driven by the company’s fully digital production model.
“Since we rely entirely on digital printing, consistency and high-quality output are crucial for our business. The C7100 has been performing well and supports our daily print requirements efficiently,” he said.
Bansal added that Konica Minolta provided comprehensive training during installation, enabling the production team to integrate the system smoothly into existing workflows. Ongoing online and offline support has further strengthened operational confidence.
Alongside the AccurioPress C7100, Sierra Innovations operates TPH Orient inkjet systems and a range of binding equipment, allowing the company to manage printing and finishing entirely in-house.
However, Konica Minolta’s press remains central to book cover printing and premium digital output, where colour accuracy and consistency are critical.
Founded in 2015–16, Sierra Innovations specialises in developing and delivering study materials for competitive examinations across India.
The company operates on a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model, handling content development, printing, and delivery internally.
Its in-house content team designs exam-specific books catering to students preparing for more than 300 competitive exams, with new categories added regularly.
Orders are placed through the company’s website, mobile applications, and ecommerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, after which books are printed on demand and shipped pan-India.
The business is jointly led by co-founders Ayush Aggarwal, Devendra Dhaka, and Arpit Bansal, who oversee operations, content, production, and strategic planning.
This integrated leadership structure has supported steady growth and operational efficiency. Today, Sierra Innovations employs over 150 staff across content creation, printing, production, packaging, order management, technology, and customer service.
Bansal noted that the AccurioPress C7100 is being used consistently and has delivered strong performance so far.
“We expect a full return on investment within the next two to three years. Bringing the entire production process in-house gives us greater control over volumes, quality, and cost savings,” he said, adding that reliable service support and parts availability have reinforced confidence in achieving projected ROI.
The investment aligns with a broader trend in India’s education publishing and print-on-demand segment, where digital press installations are rising as content providers seek faster turnaround times, lower inventory risks, and customized output.
Konica Minolta, meanwhile, continues to see growing adoption of its AccurioPress series among book printers, commercial printers, and D2C publishers responding to evolving demand for short-run, high-quality digital print solutions.
