Print workflow automation provider adds collaborative testing and color controls.

INDIA – Workflow automation leader Solimar Systems has launched Solimar Print Director Enterprise (SPDE) version 9.4, introducing a powerful ReadyPDF Prepress Console with multi-user access and a suite of advanced color management tools designed to enhance efficiency in high-volume print and mail environments.
The latest release marks a major step forward in Solimar’s prepress workflow innovation, allowing multiple users to simultaneously test and configure ReadyPDF settings through a thin-client interface, without directly accessing the SPDE System Manager.
This multi-user capability fosters real-time collaboration between prepress and production teams, supporting faster onboarding and more consistent PDF optimization.
“The ReadyPDF Prepress Console provides a highly flexible and dynamic testing environment for our customers,” said Mary Ann Rowan, chief experience officer at Solimar Systems.
“Development and pre-flight teams can now test, build, and share configurations and templates concurrently from their own desktop or laptop.”
The console also integrates template-based configuration management to ensure uniform processing parameters across teams, alongside comprehensive reporting tools that deliver granular analytics on PDF optimization performance.
Version 9.4 expands the ReadyPDF module with robust color modification options, enabling finer control of black color processing.
These include, rich black conversion to pure black for ink and toner cost optimization, automatic coverage control for areas exceeding 300 percent, intelligent detection and correction of poor black combinations, and automatic conversion of near-black hues to pure black for cleaner print results.
In addition to its color management advances, SPDE 9.4 introduces several technical upgrades: compatibility with Windows Server 2025, new output intents color profile option, improved vector path processing, and enhanced font mapping controls.
The update also offers better object stream compression for reduced file sizes and configurable ripping triggers based on path node density, all aimed at improving throughput and processing accuracy.
“Our customers operate in high-volume production print and mail environments,” Rowan added. “With this release, they gain improved productivity and flexibility, from prepress to print to electronic document delivery.”
SPDE 9.4 is now available for all active Solimar customers under the company’s standard update process. In line with Microsoft’s lifecycle policy, Solimar will discontinue Windows 10 support after October 14, 2025.
