TricorBraun expands portfolio with acquisition of Veritiv’s rigid packaging division

USA – TricorBraun, a leading packaging solutions provider, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Veritiv Containers, a distributor of rigid packaging solutions, from Veritiv Operating Company.

This acquisition will strengthen TricorBraun’s expertise in rigid packaging and significantly expand its North American presence, particularly in key sectors such as food and beverage, wine and spirits, nutraceuticals, industrial, and personal care.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Upon completion, Veritiv Containers will be rebranded under the TricorBraun name.

Veritiv Containers, formerly known as All American Containers, operates from multiple facilities across North America.

With this acquisition, TricorBraun aims to enhance its product offerings, service capabilities, and market reach.

Court Carruthers, President and CEO of TricorBraun, commented, “This acquisition strengthens our North American footprint, providing customers with expanded solutions and supply chain options.

“The Veritiv team is known for their expertise, commitment to quality, and outstanding customer service, and we are excited to welcome them to the TricorBraun family.”

The leadership team at Veritiv Containers will continue in their roles under the new ownership, ensuring a smooth transition.

All dedicated team members will also be offered positions with TricorBraun. Guy Considine, business leader of Veritiv Containers, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, saying, “We are excited to join TricorBraun and continue our growth in rigid packaging while maintaining our focus on exceptional customer care.”

Recent strategic moves

This acquisition follows TricorBraun’s earlier acquisition of packaging producer Glassland, expanding its European footprint.

In 2021, TricorBraun also acquired Vetroelite, an Italian packaging company, further enhancing its European operations.

Glassland, based in Germany and Switzerland, offers an extensive catalog of glass bottles and closures, while Vetroelite provides glass containers for liquids, food, and perfumery products.

Declan McCarthy, President of TricorBraun Europe, highlighted the strategic value of these acquisitions, “These moves provide new growth opportunities for our teams and supplier partners, while offering expanded services and local options for our customers.”

Since its founding in 1902, TricorBraun has acquired 41 packaging firms globally, positioning itself as a major player in the packaging industry.
