CHINA – Global technology and services provider Valmet has announced a major contract to supply a high-speed board-making line to Anhui Linping Circular Development in China.
This project, which aims to produce recycled liner grades for packaging, marks a significant step toward Anhui Linping’s sustainability and expansion goals.
Scheduled to begin operations in late 2025, the new line will feature Valmet’s OptiConcept M board-making technology.
Known for its efficiency and environmental benefits, the machine will help reduce water and energy consumption, aligning with Anhui Linping’s commitment to greener production.
The contract is valued between €40 million (US$44.2 million) and €60 million (US$ 65.89m) and is included in Valmet’s Q3 2024 orders received.
Li Jianshe, Chairman of Anhui Linping, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “We chose Valmet because their board machines are equipped with the advanced technologies necessary for wide, high-speed machines.
“Their solutions support our energy efficiency and resource management goals, helping us to meet our capacity targets and expand our business.”
The new board-making line will include a comprehensive suite of technologies: headboxes, a forming section, press and dryer sections, a sizer, a calender, and a reel.
Additionally, Valmet will provide its DNA Machine Controls, Condition Monitoring, IQ Quality Control System, Machine Vision, spare parts, and Industrial Internet connectivity solutions.
The machine, measuring 9,300 mm in width, will operate at a design speed of 1,200 meters per minute and have a daily production capacity of around 1,808 tonnes of recycled liner and fluting grades.
Anhui Linping, a leading manufacturer of high-grade packaging materials in China, has played a significant role in the packaging industry since its founding in 2002.
This partnership with Valmet strengthens its production capabilities and underscores its dedication to sustainable practices.
Kari Räisänen, Vice President of Sales for Board and Paper Mills at Valmet, commented on the collaboration: “The customer sought a supplier with advanced technology who could support their digital transformation. Our successful cooperation throughout the investment project has led to mutual trust and a strong relationship.”
This new deal also reinforces Valmet’s position in the Chinese market, showcasing its ability to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the packaging industry.
It follows Valmet’s recent order from JK Paper Limited in India, where the company will supply a bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp (BCTMP) line and related equipment to enhance production at JK Paper’s Fort Songadh mill.
As the packaging industry continues to prioritize sustainability and efficiency, Valmet’s technology solutions are helping to drive the shift towards greener production processes worldwide.
