ProMach expands portfolio with acquisition of American Holt, DMA Solution, and Pride Engineering

The deals expand ProMach’s capabilities in the consumer packaged goods sector.

USA – ProMach, a leading provider of packaging machinery and integrated solutions, has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of American Holt, DMA Solution, and Pride Engineering, collectively known as AmHolt, from Arcline Investment Management.

Although financial terms were not disclosed, the move significantly strengthens ProMach’s position within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) sector.

American Holt and DMA Solution specialize in precision components used in packaging applications across beverages, food, protein, and home care categories.

Pride Engineering, meanwhile, is a well-established manufacturer of specialized tooling and components for aluminium can production, a sector experiencing steady growth as brands increase their shift towards recyclable metal packaging.

With facilities in Massachusetts, Quebec, and Minnesota, the AmHolt team will be integrated into ProMach’s Primary Packaging division.

This business unit, led by group president Doug Stambaugh, consists of 14 brands supplying filling, capping, labelling, product handling, and systems integration solutions to global FMCG manufacturers.

ProMach president and CEO Mark Anderson said the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of offering a fully integrated, high-performance packaging ecosystem.

“The AmHolt companies are well recognized for their quality design and manufacture, as well as for their ability to partner with consumer-packaged goods companies to improve efficiency and uptime, and we are proud to welcome their world-class products into our portfolio,” he said.

“This acquisition reinforces our commitment to providing a best-in-class, comprehensive experience for our customers.”

Former AmHolt CEO Cliff Gilbert will assume the role of senior vice president within ProMach’s Primary Packaging business.

Gilbert said joining ProMach offers the opportunity to accelerate AmHolt’s growth aspirations.

“Joining ProMach is an exciting opportunity that will allow us to continue and expand our vision to be a world-class solution provider,” he noted.

The acquisition continues ProMach’s pattern of strategic expansion in recent years. In December, the company acquired DFT Technology, a specialist in thermal processing equipment for food products, adding depth to ProMach’s processing and preservation capabilities.

In 2024, ProMach strengthened its North American footprint with the acquisition of Mexico-based Etiflex, a leading converter of pressure-sensitive and RFID labels.

The move marked ProMach’s entry into the Mexican market and expanded its labelling, coding, and identification capabilities across multiple industries, including food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and personal care.

With its latest acquisition, ProMach reinforces its commitment to delivering end-to-end packaging solutions, bolstering its supply chain resilience, component manufacturing expertise, and global customer support network.
