USA – Tequila manufacturing company Dulce Vida Tequila has rolled out its three new ready-to-drink cocktails in Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Square cartons.
The packaging of this range, which has flavors available in Margarita, Watermelon Margarita and Paloma, will allow for easy portability and hassle-free handling of the product.
Dulce Vida said its new ready-to-drink cocktails have a 15% by-volume alcohol content and are suitable for grab-on-the-go occasions.
The new carton packaging will allow Dulce Vida to achieve its wider sustainability goals.
Milestone Brands’ CEO and chair Eric Dopkins said: “Dulce Vida is produced intentionally as part of our dedication to crafting the highest-quality organic tequila with sustainable practices.
“This extends to our packaging, which is why we are working with Tetra Pak cartons for our line of ready-to-drink cocktails.
“We are excited to give our fans these three classic tequila cocktails, now packaged in a fully portable and sustainable carton – ready for all adventures ahead.”
Launched in 2011, Tetra’s Brik Aseptic carton packaging offers sustainability benefits at each stage of its entire lifecycle. Tetra Pak offers this range of packaging solutions mainly for long-life liquid foods.
The company said that this packaging can be used for serval purposes such as for use in family packages, storing plant-based beverages or even as perforated packages for storing purees of fruits and vegetables, tomato paste for example.
The consumer can choose their preferred carton shapes and sizes, with volumes ranging between 80ml and 2000ml.
Tetra Pak’s cartons primarily use paperboard as its base material, which is a renewable, recyclable and plant-based material.
This is one of many collaborations that Tetra Pak has forged with beverage manufacturers on sustainability initiatives.
Last month the Swiss company partnered with The Walt Disney Company to revitalize its dairy drinks categories.
Under the partnership, beverage cartons of Swiss retailer Coop Group (Coop) will adopt characters inspired by Disney and Marvel.
According to Tetra Pak, 80 Disney and Marvel-inspired designs will feature on the packaging of Coop’s Qualité & Prix ambient white milk, fresh white milk, flavored milk, and protein drinks in Switzerland.
In addition to its partnerships, the company also invested €30 million in carton recycling projects worldwide in 2022, according to a company press statement.
The statement said recent collaborations have focused on creating additional recycling capacity, increasing collection rates and ensuring that materials from post-consumer beverage cartons can re-enter the economy.
The company’s estimates showed that globally 1.2 million tonnes of beverage cartons were collected and sent for recycling in 2021.
