KEPRO set to host 3rd Annual Circular Packaging Conference, 2nd SPiCE Awards 2025

Held under the theme “Thriving Together: People, Planet, Progress,” this year’s edition underscores the urgent need to balance social well-being, environmental protection, and economic opportunity.

KENYA – The Kenya Extended Producer Responsibility Organization (KEPRO) has announced the 3rd Annual Circular Packaging Conference 2025, the region’s flagship event championing sustainable and circular packaging solutions.

The conference will take place on October 21, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency, Westlands, Nairobi, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, and changemakers to shape the next phase of Africa’s packaging transformation.

Held under the theme “Thriving Together: People, Planet, Progress,” this year’s edition underscores the urgent need to balance social well-being, environmental protection, and economic opportunity.

It will explore how multi-sector collaboration can accelerate circularity, where packaging materials are reused, recycled, or repurposed, while driving shared prosperity for communities.

“The conference goes beyond conversations,” said a KEPRO spokesperson. “It’s a platform for collaboration and measurable action that accelerates Kenya’s transition toward a circular economy.”

Building on the success of previous editions, the 2025 conference will feature an expanded program of keynote sessions, expert panels, live demonstrations, and interactive breakout discussions.

Delegates will hear from policymakers leading Kenya’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, technical experts driving material innovation, and private sector leaders implementing circular business models.

Key topics include sustainable packaging design, regulatory compliance, innovation in recycling technologies, and the business case for circularity.

Case studies from Kenya and across Africa will highlight impactful partnerships between manufacturers, recyclers, and community-based waste collectors, initiatives that are reducing landfill waste and creating new economic opportunities.

Kenya has positioned itself as a regional frontrunner in sustainable packaging through progressive policies and strong industry engagement.

KEPRO’s initiatives in recycling partnerships, awareness programs, and EPR compliance have played a pivotal role in building momentum toward a cleaner, circular future.

Following the conference, KEPRO will host the 2nd Sustainability, Packaging Innovation & Circular Economy (SPiCE) Awards, themed “Futuristic Frontiers – All Black Edition.”

The awards will celebrate individuals and organizations driving innovation, impact, and leadership in sustainable packaging.

The “All Black Edition” represents elegance, strength, and limitless potential, paying tribute to pioneers redefining the packaging landscape.

The SPiCE Awards aim to:

  • Recognize excellence and innovation in circular packaging.
  • Inspire adoption of circular practices across industries.
  • Encourage compliance with Kenya’s EPR and waste management regulations.
  • Amplify success stories showcasing tangible social, economic, and environmental impact.
  • Foster collaboration between producers, recyclers, civil society, and consumers.

For companies and stakeholders seeking to lead in responsible packaging and sustainability, KEPRO’s Circular Packaging Conference and SPiCE Awards 2025 stand as must-attend events.
