Linuo Pharmaceutical Packaging signs Egypt plant deal for pharmaceutical glass packaging production

Linuo plans to develop the site into a regional manufacturing base and global supply centre, improving supply chain efficiency and expanding market reach across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

EGYPT – Linuo Pharmaceutical Packaging has signed a strategic agreement to establish a manufacturing facility in Egypt’s TEDA Suez Economic Zone, marking a significant step in the company’s international expansion and reinforcing Egypt’s role as a regional industrial hub.

The agreement, signed during a ceremony attended by Egyptian Members of Parliament Yasser Omar Sheiba and Ahmed Zuhair El-Fouly, as well as Linuo Chairman Song Lai and senior executives from Zhangjiang Holdings and Egypt TEDA Development Company, positions the project to focus on pharmaceutical packaging, heat-resistant glass and specialty glass materials.

Located within the TEDA Suez Economic Zone, the facility benefits from Egypt’s strategic position connecting Asia, Africa and Europe, along with the zone’s advanced infrastructure and industrial support services.

Egypt hosts over 2,800 Chinese companies with total investments exceeding US$8 billion, while bilateral trade reached US$16 billion in 2024. No currency conversion was required as the investment value was not disclosed.

How Egypt’s TEDA Zone Infrastructure Supports Pharmaceutical Packaging Growth

The TEDA Suez Economic Zone, established in 2008 and expanded into a 7.34 square kilometer economic zone, hosts 145 companies with total investments exceeding US$2 billion and has created approximately 50,000 jobs.

Linuo plans to develop the site into a regional manufacturing base and global supply centre, improving supply chain efficiency and expanding market reach across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

The investment coincides with the 70th anniversary of Egypt-China diplomatic relations and strengthens Egypt’s role within the Belt and Road Initiative, where Egypt has become a preferred destination for Chinese manufacturers seeking access to markets across three continents.

What AI-Driven Manufacturing and Digital Management Mean for Pharmaceutical Packaging

Linuo Chairman Song Lai stated that the Egypt project would improve the company’s ability to serve international customers, open regional markets and optimise the global supply chain.

The company is accelerating its international expansion by shifting from product exports to an integrated global model encompassing production capacity and brand development. Linuo has already established a branding centre in Singapore, along with operations in Brazil and the United States.

The Egyptian facility will incorporate AI-based quality inspection, digital twin systems, smart manufacturing technologies, and environmentally sustainable production practices, combining advanced Chinese industrial technologies with local resources and capabilities.

The agreement strengthens Linuo Pharmaceutical Packaging’s position as a technology-driven global manufacturer and underscores its commitment to expanding its international presence through strategic investments in key growth markets.
