Nexeo Plastics partners with Azhar Plastics to enter Moroccan market

MOROCCO – Nexeo Plastics, a leading global distributor of thermoplastic resins, has announced a strategic partnership with Azhar Plastics to represent its expansive product portfolio in Morocco.

The agreement marks a significant milestone in Nexeo Plastics’ North African growth strategy, enabling the company to offer localized support and enhanced technical services to customers across the region.

Through this collaboration, Azhar Plastics will distribute a wide range of high-performance materials from Nexeo and its authorized suppliers, targeting industries such as automotive, healthcare, electrical, industrial, and packaging.

The partnership aims to combine Nexeo’s global logistics network and product expertise with Azhar’s strong local presence and deep market understanding.

Joao Francisco, Commercial Manager Iberia & North Africa at Nexeo Plastics, emphasized the importance of this alliance, stating that it enhances the company’s ability to deliver customized solutions and agile supply chains for Moroccan clients.

“By teaming up with Azhar Plastics, we are able to provide closer, faster, and more efficient service to customers operating in Morocco’s fast-evolving industries,” he said.

Azhar Plastics’ Managing Director, Rachid Douibi, echoed the sentiment, noting that the partnership positions both companies to respond more effectively to the specific needs of Moroccan manufacturers.

“With access to Nexeo’s wide portfolio and technical support, we’re now better equipped to serve local converters and OEMs, delivering materials that meet strict performance and compliance standards,” Douibi said.

This move into Morocco comes as part of Nexeo Plastics’ broader expansion strategy across EMEA. Earlier this year, the company extended its distribution agreement with Syensqo, formerly part of Solvay, for advanced polymers used in automotive, appliances, and healthcare sectors.

In April, Nexeo was also selected by LyondellBasell to distribute its engineered polymer portfolio across Europe, reinforcing its presence in high-value markets.

In December 2024, Nexeo expanded its partnership with Teknor Apex, bringing thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), polyamides, and PC/ABS blends to customers throughout the EMEA region.

These developments reflect a consistent push by Nexeo to localize supply, provide technical excellence, and align with shifting manufacturing hubs in regions like North Africa.

Morocco is increasingly emerging as a strategic industrial base for North Africa, benefiting from strong infrastructure, proximity to Europe, and a growing demand for high-performance plastic materials.

By leveraging Azhar Plastics’ capabilities, such as local warehousing, color matching, and processing expertise, Nexeo Plastics is set to deliver faster lead times and more tailored service to Moroccan customers.

This partnership not only underscores the rising importance of Morocco in regional manufacturing supply chains but also reflects Nexeo Plastics’ commitment to building resilient, customer-centric networks in emerging markets.
