USA – ProAmpac, a leader in flexible packaging and material science, has launched its ProActive Recyclable Paper (RP)-1050 product line, a new fibre-based packaging solution for tissue products.
This kerbside-recyclable option is now available in North America and Europe, marking a significant shift from traditional plastic film overwraps and reflecting ProAmpac’s commitment to global sustainability.
The RP-1050 range, which includes local manufacturing in Europe, offers brands a recyclable alternative to conventional plastic films.
ProAmpac’s VP of Product Development, Jim Tierney, highlighted, “RP-1050 exemplifies sustainable packaging with its high-water resistance and excellent seal characteristics, ideal for high-speed fin and lap seal form-fill-seal applications.”
RP-1050, specifically designed for bathroom tissue, paper towels, and feminine care products, utilizes ProAmpac’s HD flexographic printing technology to boost brand visibility and consumer engagement.
Available in both natural kraft and bleached versions, this versatile and high-performance solution is easy to recycle.
In June, ProAmpac introduced the ProActive Recyclable FiberCool, a patent-pending curbside insulated bag.
This innovative product offers superior temperature retention and a recyclable alternative to traditional insulated packaging. FiberCool’s design enhances delivery performance and responds to the growing demand for eco-friendly packaging solutions.
Chad Murdock, President of ProAmpac’s Fiber Division, commented, “The paper bag has seen little innovation in recent decades; FiberCool changes that with its one-piece design, which improves insulation, eliminates assembly time, saves storage space, and reduces materials and costs.
“It is prequalified for curbside recyclability, demonstrating our dedication to sustainable innovation.”
ProActive Recyclable FiberCool is more sustainable than conventional multi-material and multi-step insulated packaging.
It also offers high-definition print quality and customizable QR codes to meet various retailer needs.
Ray Recchia, Global Innovation Manager for ProAmpac’s Sustainable Paper Packaging, noted, “Under rigorous testing, FiberCool demonstrates up to 30% better temperature retention than standard paper bags, affirming its superior performance and sustainability.”
ProAmpac also partnered with Sammi to introduce a fibre-based modified atmosphere sandwich pack (MAP), marking a significant advancement in sustainability within the food-to-go market.
Sammi’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its selection of innovative packaging solutions that focus on sustainable impact and extended shelf life to minimize packaging and food waste.
By opting for fibre-based packaging sourced from responsibly managed forests, Sammi leads the way in grab-and-go sandwiches, replacing rigid plastic clamshells to reduce its packaging footprint.
