Actron Industries expands packaging capabilities with SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling line in the Philippines

By expanding its packaging portfolio and technology, Actron can help local brands innovate with new product categories and packaging formats more quickly.

PHILIPPINES – Actron Industries has expanded its packaging portfolio with a SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling line at its Calamba, Laguna plant, capable of filling up to 12,000 aseptic cartons per hour, with commercial production scheduled for Q2 2026.

The system will allow Actron to aseptically fill ready-to-drink juices, teas, dairy beverages, cooking creams, and all-purpose cream on a single high-performance system.

The SIG Midi 12 delivers format flexibility to fill both SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit on the same filling line, as well as volume flexibility (500 ml, 750 ml, and 1,000 ml) with quick changeovers done in minutes.

This allows contract manufacturers to adapt quickly to new markets and customer needs and support beverage manufacturers with fast product launches without compromising on speed and output.

Aseptic Filling: Extending Shelf Life Without Refrigeration

Aseptic filling sterilises the product and the packaging separately, then fills and seals in a sterile environment.

Unlike hot-fill or retort processes, aseptic filling preserves taste, colour, and nutrients because the product is not subjected to prolonged heating.

The result is a shelf-stable package that does not require refrigeration until opened, reducing cold chain costs and extending distribution reach.

For a country such as the Philippines with variable cold chain infrastructure, aseptic packaging enables dairy and juice brands to reach rural customers without spoilage risk.

Supporting Local Brand Innovation

By expanding its packaging portfolio and technology, Actron can help local brands innovate with new product categories and packaging formats more quickly.

Noer Wellington, Commercial Director for Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea at SIG, commented that this partnership brings flexible aseptic filling technology closer to the Philippines’ dairy and juice industry, enabling Actron to support local manufacturers in responding to evolving consumer preferences with advanced packaging solutions that enable faster innovation and scalable growth.

For an emerging brand, outsourcing to a co-packer with aseptic capability reduces capital investment: the brand does not need to build its own aseptic line or maintain the specialised technical staff required to operate it.

A Strategic Investment

Actron Industries is a Filipino food solutions company with over 40 years of experience in food ingredient trading, product development, and manufacturing, providing outsourcing services for fast-moving consumer goods including powder and beverages.

Mannito C. Dueñas, EVP Commercial Operations at Actron Industries, stated that this investment reinforces Actron’s position as a leading co-packing partner in the Philippines, adding that by incorporating SIG’s flexible filling system, Actron can offer greater scale, agility, and value to brand owners looking to innovate.
