AFRIPACK Expo, AFMASS Food Manufacturing enter day two with cutting-edge packaging solutions for Africa

This year’s highlight is the emphasis on sustainability and smart technologies.

KENYA – The AFRIPACK Expo, co-located with the AFMASS Food Manufacturing Expo, entered its second day at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi with a strong showcase of innovative packaging technologies designed to meet Africa’s growing demand for efficient, sustainable, and integrated solutions.

As part of the AFMASS series, the event has become one of the most influential platforms for packaging and food manufacturing industries across East and Central Africa.

The 2025 edition of AFRIPACK has attracted over 50 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from more than 35 countries, reflecting the region’s rising significance as a packaging innovation hub.

Companies from sectors including food and beverage, personal care, hospitality, and logistics are using the expo to showcase new technologies, forge partnerships, and explore market expansion opportunities.

This year’s highlight is the emphasis on sustainability and smart technologies. Exhibitors are unveiling solutions such as biodegradable films, recyclable containers, refillable packaging systems, and innovations in paper-based alternatives.

These developments are driven by increasing pressure from consumers and governments across Africa for greener, safer packaging that reduces environmental impact while preserving product quality.

On the floor, advanced machinery for processing and packaging is drawing significant attention. From automated form-fill-seal lines and labelling machines to robotic palletizers and AI-enabled quality control systems, the expo reflects a clear pivot toward automation and Industry 4.0 integration.

These technologies not only improve efficiency but also help small and medium-sized African manufacturers remain competitive in both domestic and export markets.

The co-location of AFRIPACK with the AFMASS Food Manufacturing Expo allows for seamless interaction between packaging suppliers and food processors, creating a full supply-chain experience, from raw ingredient sourcing to packaging and distribution.

Attendees benefit from over 30 hours of expert-led sessions, live product demos, technical workshops, and networking opportunities with investors, government agencies, NGOs, and industry leaders.

With Kenya’s strategic position as a trade and innovation hub for East Africa, AFRIPACK 2025 reinforces the country’s role in leading Africa’s transformation in sustainable packaging.

As the food processing and packaging market across Africa and the Middle East is projected to hit over US$14 billion by 2031, the expo is not only timely but essential in catalyzing inclusive industrial growth across the region.
