ISPES partners with Zong to launch PecoDrop Smart Waste Stations

PAKISTAN – ISP Environmental Solutions has partnered with Zong to launch PecoDrop, smart waste management stations designed to improve recycling through segregation, digital tracking and employee participation across Zong facilities.

PecoDrop will enable employees to separate recyclable plastic, paper and metal at the point of disposal. 

The initiative brings ISPES’s environmental solutions into the workplace, supporting material recovery and reducing the volume of recyclable waste sent to landfills. 

For packaging supply chains, workplace segregation programmes generate cleaner feedstock streams, since materials collected separately retain higher value than mixed municipal waste and require less processing before reprocessing.

Digital Records Create Traceable Chain From Disposal to Recovery

The system records material deposits, volumes and collections, creating a traceable data chain from disposal to recovery. 

An integrated rewards mechanism will allow Zong employees to earn credits for depositing recyclables, track their contributions digitally and redeem accumulated rewards. 

This combination of physical infrastructure and digital record-keeping addresses a recurring weakness in workplace recycling programmes, where participation frequently declines without measurable feedback or visible incentive structures.

Leadership Frames Initiative as Circular Economy Infrastructure

Zillay Maryam, chief executive of ISPES, said the partnership went far beyond collection points, describing it as engineering the first mile of a true circular economy. 

She added that ISPES was proud to partner with Zong to build the digital and physical infrastructure for a cleaner, sustainable future. 

Through PecoDrop, ISPES aims to make segregation a practice and strengthen the connection between responsible disposal and recycling, combining collection infrastructure with digital records to support a more measurable approach to workplace waste management.

Nabila Yazdani, head of strategy and company spokesperson at Zong, said the company believed sustainability was embedded in how it operated, created value and made responsible choices every day. 

The deployment reflects growing corporate adoption of workplace recycling infrastructure, particularly among telecommunications and technology firms with large employee bases and public sustainability commitments. 

For packaging producers and recyclers, such programmes expand available feedstock from commercial sources, complementing municipal collection and informal waste networks. 

The initiative also generates data that companies can use for environmental reporting, an increasingly common requirement among multinational partners and investors.
