Milestone underscores commitment to circular economy and responsible sourcing in aseptic packaging sector.
CHINA — Aseptic packaging leader Lamipak has received the coveted ISCC PLUS certification for its state-of-the-art production sites in Kunshan, China, and Jakarta, Indonesia.
The certification, granted by global assurance firm Intertek, reinforces Lamipak’s commitment to sustainability, traceable sourcing, and circular economy practices across its operations.
The ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is a globally respected standard that ensures environmentally and socially responsible sourcing of bio-based and recycled materials.
The certification also enables traceability along the entire supply chain—from feedstock to final product—and authorizes certified companies to label their products accordingly, helping consumers identify more sustainable options on the shelf.
“Receiving ISCC PLUS certification is more than a milestone; it is a testament to our mission to provide high-performance packaging solutions with sustainability at their core,” said a Lamipak spokesperson.
“This recognition allows our clients to confidently access high-barrier markets while aligning with global environmental targets.”
Lamipak’s newly certified sites are producing chemically recycled polyethylene (PE) that offers performance levels comparable to virgin materials.
The facilities leverage advanced chemical recycling technologies to transform plastic waste into premium, circular packaging materials—actively addressing the industry’s plastic waste and carbon footprint challenges.
As global environmental regulations continue to evolve, major packaging stakeholders are racing to secure certification under ISCC PLUS and similar schemes to maintain market access and bolster their environmental credentials.
Other notable players who have attained ISCC PLUS certification include SIG Combibloc, Elopak, and Tetra Pak—signaling a growing industry-wide shift toward verified sustainable sourcing and production.
The addition of Lamipak to this roster further intensifies competition in the sustainable packaging sector while presenting brand owners and retailers with more certified, low-carbon packaging alternatives.
The certification also empowers Lamipak to display the ISCC PLUS logo on end-user products, strengthening the connection between environmentally conscious consumers and responsible packaging solutions.
As the packaging industry responds to global sustainability imperatives, certifications like ISCC PLUS are becoming essential tools—not only for regulatory compliance but also for building trust and transparency in supply chains.
Lamipak’s latest achievement cements its leadership in this evolving landscape and positions the company as a reliable partner for brands seeking to meet their environmental goals.
