Paskenta Mad River Brewery unveils innovative packaging for Steelhead Extra Pale Ale

USA – Paskenta Mad River Brewery, a tribally owned craft beer producer, has introduced new packaging for its flagship Steelhead Extra Pale Ale.

Currently available in 12oz six-packs and 12oz 12-packs, the brewery has announced plans to launch a 12oz can 12-pack, expanding its product offerings.

Brandin Paya, Tribal Chair of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, emphasized the significance of this update.

“This new package symbolizes our vision for the future—expanding our offerings and making improvements that keep us ahead in the industry. As we build a family of brands, we aim to make Paskenta tribal products stand out on the shelf, setting a new benchmark in craft beer.”

The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians acquired Mad River Brewery in 2024, making it one of the few tribal-owned craft breweries in the U.S.

Since the acquisition, the brewery has invested in infrastructure upgrades, including a new commercial canning line set to triple production capacity.

Currently, the brewery’s canning line produces 35 cans per minute. Still, once the new system is fully operational by the end of the year, output will increase significantly, boosting the availability of its popular ales and seltzers.

Paskenta Mad River Brewery General Manager Linda Cooley highlighted the legacy of Steelhead Extra Pale Ale, describing it as a timeless beer that has brought people together for years.

“Steelhead’s success is at the heart of our craft beer journey. While our brand has evolved, Steelhead remains a quintessential part of our identity. This new package reflects our commitment to quality while expanding our reach, spotlighting tribal self-determination and resilience with a product people have loved for decades.”

With these packaging innovations and production upgrades, Paskenta Mad River Brewery continues to strengthen its position as a heritage brand with a promising future in the craft beer industry.

In a similar innovation, Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America (AGP-North America), last December, added two 12oz bottles to complete its Peak bottle collection.

These additions join the existing Clear Peak bottle in flint glass, enhancing the range available on AGP-North America’s BuyOurBottles (BOB) platform.

The Peak collection is designed and manufactured in the U.S. and caters to craft brewers and beverage producers.

The twist-off bottles come in various colors, sizes, and finishes, offering versatility to meet diverse packaging needs.
