Announced on 26 August 2026, the new product extends the silicone-free HERMA InNo-Liner, suitable for both automated labelling and hand-applied labels from desktop printers.

GERMANY – HERMA has launched Linerless Plus, a conventional linerless labelling product for logistics and dispatch applications that eliminates silicone-coated backing paper, saving approximately 1.37 tonnes of material and 1.42 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per 1.5 million labels.
The new product, announced on 26 August 2026, builds on the company’s silicone-free HERMA InNo-Liner and can be used for both automated labelling and labels printed on desktop printers and then applied by hand.
The product was developed to address recognised limitations of existing linerless formats, particularly adhesion, cutting and residue build-up inside printers.
Unlike standard linerless products that require adhesive-free sections for cutting, HERMA’s in-house developed multi-layer adhesive allows full-surface coverage across the entire label.
How Full-Surface Adhesive Enables Greater Design Flexibility
The company said the absence of adhesive-free sections gives users more options over label size, while providing high initial and final adhesion across the full surface and improving handling during cutting.
With Linerless Plus, there are no restrictions on the number or format of labels that can be produced or used, and no residues of adhesive or paper dust accumulate inside the printer, reducing cleaning requirements and maintaining reliable operation throughout the machine’s life.
The product is compatible with standard printers and print-and-apply equipment designed for self-adhesive linerless labels.
Together with cab, HERMA offers system solutions for both concepts: a print-and-apply system for HERMA InNo-Liner and Linerless Plus, as well as desktop printers for Linerless Plus labels.
Linerless Plus labels can also be used in suitable linerless devices from other manufacturers.
Market Context and Industry Demand
HERMA labels division key account manager Sven Pleier stated that for many companies, the question of how they can reduce material use and waste in labelling without compromising on process reliability and productivity is becoming increasingly important.
He added that with the expanded range of linerless solutions, HERMA can now provide a suitable answer for almost all logistics and dispatch applications, opening up new options for product labelling.
The linerless label market is growing as businesses seek to reduce waste and improve sustainability in their labelling operations.
HERMA’s current portfolio includes both silicone-free and conventional linerless products, allowing customers to choose the option that best fits their specific application requirements and equipment.
