GERMANY – SÜDPACK, the German-based manufacturer of high-performance films for the packaging industry, has announced the appointment of Thorsten Seehars as its new Chief Executive Officer.

He succeeds Erik Bouts, who is retiring after six years at the helm.

Under Bouts’ leadership, SÜDPACK underwent a successful corporate reorganization and advanced its commitment to sustainability and R&D innovation. He will remain with the company in an advisory capacity until early 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.

Reflecting on his new role, Seehars stated, “I’m truly excited to take on the overall responsibility at such a well-established and highly innovative company as SÜDPACK.

“It’s a privilege to build upon the foundation laid by my predecessor, who strengthened our market position through strategic foresight and a data-driven approach.”

Seehars brings extensive international experience, having led global business divisions across various technology companies. His appointment aligns with SÜDPACK’s Strategy 2030 framework, which outlines the company’s vision for its next phase of growth.

Carolin Grimbacher, Managing Partner at SÜDPACK, expressed confidence in the new leadership, “We are very pleased to welcome Thorsten Seehars—a strong leader and seasoned strategist. He will work with our team to shape the long-term direction of the SÜDPACK Group and inject fresh momentum into our growth ambitions.

“Despite challenging geopolitical and economic conditions, our focus on the advantages of a family-owned business, combined with our innovation capabilities and team dedication, positions us well for success.”

Konica Minolta strengthens executive team in Europe

Meanwhile, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe has announced two major leadership appointments as part of its strategic growth initiatives.

Kentaro Itamoto has been named President of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe, succeeding Kiyotaka Suhara.

Since joining the company in 2002, Itamoto has held key leadership roles across multiple regions, including the Middle East, North America, and Japan.

In the Middle East, he successfully established the regional office and doubled business within three years.

During his time in North America, Itamoto was instrumental in leading five mergers and acquisitions, significantly enhancing Konica Minolta’s direct sales operations.

In a parallel move, Toshitaka Uemura has been appointed Head of the Industrial Printing (IP) Business in Europe.

Reporting directly to Itamoto, Uemura will work closely with Rob Ferris, CEO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), to further develop the company’s IP strategy in the region.

These appointments come as Konica Minolta continues to scale its industrial printing operations—an area seen as a key driver of long-term growth.
