Coveris is not just adding machines, it is engineering for two conflicting demands: the need for speed and the need for precision.

POLAND – Coveris has invested €1.8 million (approximately US$2.1 million) in machinery at its two Polish manufacturing plants, including a Soma Proxima high-speed printing press running at 400 meters per minute and a Lemo wicketted bag machine producing 550 bags per minute.
The Soma Proxima press will increase annual printing capacity by 30 percent, delivering faster turnaround times and consistent high-quality printing for high-volume packaging formats.
Coveris has also installed a Lemo machine for wicketted bags sized 230–380 mm, processing low- and high-density PE and cast PP for bakery, produce, and personal care products.
Three Machines, One Strategic Vision
The third investment is a laser scoring machine for stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags, allowing precise opening features that improve consumer experience and on-shelf differentiation for food and pet food brands.
The Lemo machine’s 550 bags-per-minute output means approximately 33,000 bags per hour, enough to fill a typical retail order in minutes.
Poland as a Strategic Hub
Christian Kolarik, CEO of Coveris, explained that strategic investment in technology is key to how the company grows and supports its customers.
He noted that by strengthening operations in Poland, Coveris is expanding capacity, increasing flexibility, and delivering the speed and quality customers need in fast-moving markets.
The investments reinforce Poland’s position as a strategic growth hub in Central and Eastern Europe.
Context: Focus After Paper Divestment
Earlier this week, Coveris sold its Business Unit Paper to Kingswood Capital Management for €270 million (approximately US$321.2 million), rebranding the unit as Paranova Print and Packaging.
The divestment allowed Coveris to sharpen its focus on flexible packaging production across the EMEA region.
When Speed Meets Precision
A 30 percent increase in printing capacity. A machine that stamps out 550 bags every minute. A laser that scores pouches for clean, satisfying opens.
Coveris is not just adding machines, it is engineering for two conflicting demands: the need for speed and the need for precision. In flexible packaging, the winner is not the fastest line or the neatest score, but the manufacturer that masters both. Coveris just placed a €1.8 million bet that it has.
