The investment includes a showroom for testing Epson’s printing and projection products, plus expanded training and in-market servicing capacity.

KENYA – Epson has invested KES 19.4 million (US$155,000) to expand its Nairobi office by 50 percent, adding a showroom, training space and servicing capacity as the Japanese printing and projection technology company deepens its commitment to East Africa’s growing demand for local support.
The expanded facility, announced on 1 September 2026, will serve as a regional hub for Epson’s East African printing operations and is part of a broader push into the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Central & West Asia (META-CWA) region.
The investment includes a dedicated showroom where partners and customers can test Epson’s printing and projection products, alongside added capacity for training and in-market servicing.
Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa, stated that the new office creates a hub where partners and customers can experience printing technology first-hand and work directly with the local team.
Printing Technology and Renewable Energy Across 10 Regional Sites
Epson paired the Nairobi expansion with an update on its renewable energy purchases, extending the use of renewable energy certificates to 10 sites across the region.
These include the Kenyan office and locations in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Türkiye, Israel, Ukraine, and the UAE Experience Centre.
Between March 2025 and April 2026, the company purchased 416 MWh of certificates to match electricity use at those sites.
Neil Colquhoun, President of Epson META-CWA, stated that sustainability is central to the company’s growth strategy.
EcoTank and Heat-Free Technology Drive Energy Savings
The Nairobi expansion comes as Epson’s latest EcoTank printers, built on Micro Piezo Heat-Free technology, use up to 96 percent less energy than traditional thermal inkjet printing.
Epson’s Micro Piezo Heat-Free technology has now been installed in over 100 million business and home printers worldwide, delivering significant energy savings across the printing industry.
The expanded Nairobi facility will also serve as a training centre for partners to learn about the latest printing technologies, including the company’s industrial and commercial printing solutions for the growing East African packaging and labelling market.
East African Printing Market Growth and Local Support
Demand for business printing and visual products is rising across emerging markets, with companies increasingly wanting local support rather than service routed through offices abroad.
The expanded Nairobi office positions Epson to capture this growing demand across East Africa, where the packaging and labelling sector is expanding rapidly alongside the region’s manufacturing and FMCG industries.
The facility’s new servicing capacity enables faster response times for printer maintenance and repairs, reducing downtime for businesses across the region.
