Anchor Packaging, headquartered in St Louis, Missouri, has operations in the US states of Arkansas and Wisconsin.

USA – Georgia-Pacific, a leading US-based packaging company, has agreed to acquire Anchor Packaging, a prominent manufacturer of rigid food containers and cling film.
The deal is set to enhance Georgia-Pacific’s offerings in the food service, retail, and processor markets. Financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.
Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Anchor Packaging operates facilities in Arkansas and Wisconsin.
Since 2019, it has been a portfolio company of TJC, a private equity firm previously known as The Jordan Company.
According to industry reports, Anchor’s expertise in thermoforming and innovative product designs, such as Crisp Food Technologies containers and tamper-secure packaging, will complement Georgia-Pacific’s Dixie brand, known for tableware products.
“Anchor Packaging will be a significant addition to our consumer products platform, particularly enhancing our Dixie business,” said David Duncan, executive vice president of Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group.
The acquisition, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025 pending regulatory approval, aims to strengthen Georgia-Pacific’s supply chain and innovation in the growing food-to-go sector.
Anchor Packaging’s president and CEO, Jeff Wolff, noted that the partnership would expand their product portfolio and accelerate innovation to deliver greater value to customers.
RBC Capital Markets and Goldman Sachs advised Anchor, while Nomura Securities International guided Georgia-Pacific.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific manages well-known consumer brands like Angel Soft, Brawny, and Quilted Northern.
The company employs approximately 30,000 people across more than 150 facilities, supporting a wide range of packaging and building products.
This acquisition follows Georgia-Pacific’s recent strategic moves, including a May 2025 decision to close its Cedar Springs, Georgia, containerboard facility due to concerns about long-term competitiveness.
In related industry developments, a recent report highlighted Clearwater Paper Corporation’s acquisition of a bleached paperboard facility in Augusta, Georgia, from Graphic Packaging International for approximately US$700 million, completed in 2025.
Fernando González, president of Dixie, emphasized the strategic importance of the Anchor acquisition, stating it would enhance Georgia-Pacific’s ability to provide innovative food and beverage packaging solutions.
The company anticipates the integration of Anchor’s 1,000-strong workforce in Arkansas and other operations will drive growth in the competitive packaging market.
