The deals further consolidate ProMach’s footprint in high-performance packaging solutions.

USA – ProMach, a leading packaging machinery solutions provider, has acquired Lako Tool & Manufacturing, a Perrysburg, Ohio-based company known for designing and manufacturing sealing, cutting, and punching components for flexible film packaging equipment. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1976, Lako serves sectors including snacks, tobacco, personal care, and pet food. Its components are recognized for precision engineering, durability, and support for challenging and sustainable packaging materials, attributes that ProMach highlighted as strategic for enhancing its Systems & Process business unit.
“Lako is well recognised for quality designs, precision engineering and high-quality component manufacturing,” said Mark Anderson, ProMach president and CEO.
“With a world-class reputation for understanding complex customer requirements and delivering solutions that extend part lifecycles and ensure superior sealing, we are proud to welcome their best-in-class products into the ProMach portfolio.
“The synergies with other ProMach companies are exciting for both our company and our customers.”
Lako’s operations will integrate under ProMach’s Systems & Process division, led by group president Ryan McCart.
The company’s 59 employees will continue in their roles, reporting to Don Deubel, senior vice-president of ProMach’s flexible packaging business line. John Bialecki, former CEO of Lako, assumes the role of vice president and general manager within ProMach.
“I have been blessed to work with our previous owner, John Sullivan, for almost 20 years,” said Bialecki.
“Being part of ProMach will allow us to significantly scale Lako by leveraging the tools, processes, and customer relationships that ProMach has developed.”
This acquisition follows ProMach’s January purchase of American Holt, DMA Solution, and Pride Engineering, collectively known as AmHolt, from Arcline Investment Management.
These businesses manufacture components for packaging applications across beverages, food, protein, and home-care sectors, highlighting ProMach’s ongoing strategy to broaden its product portfolio and enhance operational synergies.
The flexible packaging sector has seen notable consolidation globally, with companies seeking to integrate precision component manufacturing with end-to-end packaging solutions.
Recent acquisitions by equipment providers in Europe and North America demonstrate the trend toward delivering fully integrated machinery portfolios capable of handling sustainable and complex packaging materials.
With Lako joining its fold, ProMach strengthens its ability to serve flexible packaging markets with innovative, reliable components while leveraging synergies across its expanding portfolio of packaging technologies.
