USA –Atlantic Packaging, an industrial packaging company, has introduced the Fishbone C-Clip, an upgraded version of its can and bottle carrier initially launched in 2020.
Designed with a second carrier layer, the Fishbone C-Clip ensures durability against potential tension loss or moisture exposure while maintaining integrity in refrigerated conditions.
Notably, this packaging innovation reflects Atlantic Packaging’s ongoing commitment to eliminating single-use plastics from the packaging supply chain, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.
Concerns over plastic pollution underscore the significance of such initiatives, with the UN’s Environment Program estimating that plastic debris claims the lives of over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine animals annually.
Offering both stock and customized options for banner display branding, the Fishbone C-Clip caters to various packaging needs.
Stock design options are available for 4-packs and 6-packs, which can be machine-applied using Atlantic’s specialized machinery, including the Snapper tool for manual applications, the BCF25 for semi-automatic applications, and the BCF-100 for high-speed applications.
Wes Carter, President of Atlantic Packaging, emphasized the environmental benefits of the Fishbone C-Clip, stating, “Traditional plastic ring beverage carriers have long been problematic for our natural world and contribute to direct entanglement or ingestion threats to land and water-based species. The Fishbone C-Clip provides a sustainable alternative and technical design.”
Atlantic Packaging recognized with ‘A’ score for transparency and action on climate
In a separate accolade, Atlantic Packaging was recently lauded for its corporate transparency and climate action efforts by global environmental non-profit CDP, earning a coveted spot on its annual ‘A List’.
Among over 21,000 companies evaluated worldwide, Atlantic Packaging is one of only 346 companies, and one of 29 in North America, to achieve this distinction.
CDP’s recognition underscores Atlantic Packaging’s commitment to sustainability and climate action, evidenced by its status as the first packaging company in North America with an approved net-zero Science-Based Target (SBT) for climate action.
Furthermore, Atlantic Packaging’s A New Earth Project aims to advocate for and raise awareness of scalable and sustainable packaging solutions to combat plastic pollution in oceans, lakes, and rivers worldwide.
The company also implements climate-smart strategies across key areas such as renewables for logistics and material handling, energy efficiency in lighting, and zero-waste facilities.
As part of its commitment to influence its value chain positively, Atlantic Packaging is actively participating in the Supplier Leadership on Climate Transitions (S-LoCT) program, collaborating with 20 other brands to collectively achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
