USA – American beverage company BlueTriton has introduced a new aluminium bottle packaging option across five prominent brands: Poland Spring, Deer Park, Ice Mountain, Arrowhead, and Pure Life.

This initiative underscores BlueTriton’s commitment to its 2030 Sustainability Goals, which strive for all packaging to be 100% recyclable, reusable, or compostable.

Kheri Holland Tillman, BlueTriton’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed enthusiasm about offering these beloved brands in sleek new aluminium bottles, emphasizing the company’s dedication to long-term sustainability and responsible water stewardship.

To further enhance its environmental impact, BlueTriton has partnered with 1% for the Planet, a global network of environmentally focused businesses. Sales of the new aluminium bottles will support environmental organizations, complementing BlueTriton’s broader commitment to environmental stewardship, which includes maintaining resilient water sourcing and protecting watersheds and wetlands.

The company’s sustainability efforts extend to a team of National Resource Managers comprising geologists, hydrogeologists, and engineers. These managers diligently work to understand and sustain BlueTriton’s water resources.

These initiatives are crafted to ensure long-term sustainability and the availability of healthy hydration for future generations.

Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet, lauded BlueTriton’s commitment to environmental protection and community service, highlighting their efforts to safeguard the planet’s natural resources and ensure access to safe, sustainably sourced drinking water.

Similarly, Coca-Cola’s Glacéau smartwater brand has introduced 12-oz. aluminium cans with a refreshed visual design to resonate with consumers’ environmental concerns while offering convenient consumption options, especially during the spring and summer months.

The sleek and elegant design of the cans, featuring a silver drop motif and distinctive background colors for each variety, seeks to appeal to consumers interested in sustainability-minded packaging without compromising on convenience.

This move marks a significant step for smartwater, the first vapour-distilled water available in individual aluminium cans.

Initially available in single cans and 8-packs across the United States, smartwater’s introduction of aluminium packaging reflects a growing consumer interest in non-plastic, environmentally conscious packaging options.

Sadie Ellison, senior brand manager at smartwater, said: “As the leading premium water brand, we are responsible for constantly iterating, improving and meeting consumers where they are. Today means ensuring we’re in a package that fits shifting trends as we head into the spring and summer seasons of socializing.”
