As of early 2026, the company’s market capitalization stands at approximately US$26.0bn, reflecting its position as one of the world’s sizeable tech hardware firms.

JAPAN – Canon has broadened its print solutions portfolio with the introduction of the LG-P800, an 8-inch full-color label printer designed for businesses seeking faster turnaround, greater flexibility, and high-quality label output amid rapidly shifting product cycles.
As manufacturers face intensified demands for customization, shorter production runs, and frequent product updates, the role of on-demand labeling continues to gain prominence.
Canon positions the LG-P800 as a solution that supports accurate, visually appealing labels for manufacturing, logistics, retail, and select food packaging applications.
The LG-P800 uses a pigment-based ink system engineered for durability, delivering high-definition prints that resist fading, moisture, and abrasion, key requirements for inventory management and transport.
The printer supports edge-to-edge output on media ranging from 2 to 8.5 inches wide, including glossy films and synthetic substrates, enabling brand owners to create professional labels without outsourcing.
A 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen and automatic media detection streamline setup, while a maximum resolution of 1200 × 1200 DPI ensures crisp text and detailed graphics.
Canon’s Sub-Ink Tank System maximizes ink usage and allows tanks to be swapped during operation, minimizing downtime during long production runs. The LG-P800 will be commercially available beginning January 2026.
The rollout aligns with Canon’s accelerated investment in digital print technologies across packaging markets.
It follows the October launch of the corrPRESS iB17, a next-generation digital inkjet press designed for industrial corrugated packaging.
Targeted at high-volume converters, the iB17 delivers offset-like quality at speeds of up to 8,000 m² per hour and supports production runs of up to 20,000 m².
With the ability to print directly onto boards up to 1.7 meters wide using water-based pigment inks and food-safe primers, the iB17 addresses increasingly stringent environmental and regulatory standards.
Canon’s integrated design, spanning printheads, inks, and drying systems, enhances operational consistency, while automated cleaning and built-in quality control reduce waste and energy consumption.
Industry analysts note that Canon’s dual focus on compact label printers and industrial corrugated presses reflects a broader trend toward digital transformation in packaging, as brands pursue sustainable, agile, and cost-efficient production models.
Competitors including Epson, HP, and Primera have similarly expanded their digital label offerings, signaling rising demand across FMCG, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, and specialty food sectors.
With these latest innovations, Canon strengthens its position in the rapidly evolving digital print and packaging landscape, offering solutions that cater to both small-batch customization and industrial scalability.
