INDIA – CHUK, the flagship brand of Pakka Limited and a leading manufacturer of compostable food packaging, has teamed up with the MahaKumbh Mela Trust to serve as the official tableware supplier for MahaKumbh 2025.
This landmark event, held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. It occurs once every 12 years and draws millions of devotees.
CHUK will exclusively provide its eco-friendly tableware, crafted from bagasse, to restaurants participating in government programs during the event.
This collaboration addresses the immense logistical needs of serving attendees while prioritizing hygiene and sustainability.
The partnership aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s focus on environmental sustainability, particularly its RACE initiative (Reducing Plastic and Achieving Clean Environment), which promotes plastic-free communities.
CHUK’s recent involvement in the Ram Mandir inauguration also underscores its commitment to supporting eco-friendly practices in significant cultural and religious events.
CHUK’s compostable tableware undergoes stringent testing to ensure durability and reliability. Each product is subjected to heat resistance tests with 100-degree hot oil and water to guarantee a spill-free experience.
Additionally, quality control specialists meticulously examine the tableware for structural integrity, ensuring it meets the highest standards of excellence.
CHUK has been appointed as the L1 (most preferred) vendor for the MahaKumbh Mela, securing a deal worth INR 1.75 crore, with potential expansion to INR 2.5 crore based on event requirements.
This partnership reflects a shared vision of blending cultural heritage with environmental responsibility, as highlighted by Jagdeep Hira, India Business Head at Pakka Limited, “We are immensely grateful to be part of the MahaKumbh Mela, a sacred gathering that holds a special place in the hearts of millions.
“Our eco-friendly solutions allow us to contribute to this congregation while promoting environmental sustainability. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to creating a cleaner, greener earth.”
By uniting with the MahaKumbh Mela Trust, CHUK sets a powerful example of how spiritual values can be harmonized with sustainable practices, paving the way for a greener future.
