Kellanova unveils sleek new bag design for Pringles

USA – Snack brand Pringles, owned by Kellanova (formerly Kellogg), has introduced an exciting new addition to its lineup with Pringles Mingles.

This marks the brand’s first venture into bagged snacks in over 15 years and generates enthusiasm among our dedicated customers.

Pringles are widely recognized for their unique cylindrical container packaging, known for neatly stacking crisps inside paperboard tubes.

The new Pringles Mingles bags prominently feature the brand’s iconic “Mr P” logo and showcase enticing flavor combinations such as Cheddar and Sour Cream, Sharp White Cheddar and Ranch, and Dill Pickle and Ranch.

Mauricio Jenkins, Pringles’ US marketing lead, commented on this innovation: “Our iconic Pringles can is part of our identity — and it’s here to stay — but we’re always exploring new ways to satisfy our fans’ evolving preferences.

“The easy-to-share packaging introduces a fresh way for them to enjoy our snacks with friends and family.”

Rest assured, Pringles Mingles will hit shelves at retailers across the US in October 2024, ensuring that you can soon indulge in this exciting new snack.

Kellanova, which also boasts other popular snack brands like Cheez-It, Pop-Tarts, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats, MorningStar Farms, Special K, and Coco Pops, has pursued sustainability initiatives.

Last year, the company announced significant reductions in plastic packaging for three of its snack brands: Cheez-It Snap’d, Cheez-It Puff’d, and Club Crisps.

This innovative redesign has substantially reduced material weight, cutting 672,000 pounds annually, including 124,000 pounds of plastic and 548,000 pounds of corrugated cardboard.

Kellanova’s Chief Sustainability Officer Janelle Meyers emphasized the company’s vision: “Kellanova envisions a future where the planet thrives. By reducing plastic in popular snacks like Cheez-It and Club Crisps, we remain committed to sustainable practices.”

Aligned with its ‘Better Days Promise,’ Kellanova aims to make all packaging 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2030.

The company is also a signatory to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation New Plastics Economy Pledge, aiming to reduce virgin plastic usage by 5%.

David Lestage, Kellanova’s VP Chief R&D Officer, reaffirmed the commitment to sustainability: “Despite our relatively low plastic packaging footprint, we are dedicated to collaborating with partners and innovators to develop packaging solutions that protect our foods and our planet.”

This commitment is exemplified by the success of reducing plastic in flagship brands, reflecting Kellanova’s ongoing dedication to sustainability in the food industry.
