USA – Global packaging company TricorBraun has completed the acquisition of beverage packaging business CanSource.
The acquisition expands TricorBraun’s beverage packaging capabilities and strengthens its position in the North American beverage packaging market.
Brett Binkowski, president, North America, TricorBraun said: “Our acquisition of CanSource—a company known for exceptional quality, hands-on service, and reliability—enables us to provide beverage customers across North America with expanded offerings and services, and more sustainable packaging options.
“We welcome the CanSource team to the TricorBraun family, and we look forward to investing in the company’s continued growth.”
Based in Longmont, CanSource provides brite, shrink-sleeved, and printed cans to the craft beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverage markets. The company operates from four locations across the US, including headquarters near Denver, CO.
“Partnering with TricorBraun is a significant milestone in CanSource’s history,” said Paige Sopcic, CEO, CanSource.
“We’ve admired and respected TricorBraun for years and are excited to join a team who shares the same dedication to quality and customer service while providing multiple opportunities for our expansion and growth.”
Upon completion of the deal, all CanSource team members will remain with TricorBraun and continue to work out of the company’s existing locations.
This deal follows a similar acquisition TricorBraun completed in November last year, adding Canadian company Merlot Packaging to its portfolio.
Merlot Packaging supplies injection-molded packaging components across North America. It specializes in closure systems such as child-resistant closures, continuous thread caps, dispensing closure systems and liner selection seals.
TricorBraun president and CEO Court Carruthers at the time, said: “Our acquisition of Merlot Packaging continues our long history of strategic investment and growth in Canada.
“We look forward to combining the expertise of TricorBraun and Merlot to serve nutraceutical customers across North America.”
More recently, TricorBraun signed an exclusive agreement with turn-key sustainable solutions provider BioBottles to provide biodegradable bottles to nutraceutical companies in the US and Canada.
Utilizing proprietary technology, BioBottles is an environmentally responsible and cost-effective alternative for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical packaging needs.
An industry-first, BioBottles with Plastic IQ™ technology turns ordinary HDPE and PP bottles, caps, and scoops into a material that is no longer plastic at the end of its useful life when exposed to an open environment, in the right conditions.
