Weave Ghana unveils new Mega Growth packaging and ‘Relax Right’ campaign

The revamped packaging replaces earlier visuals featuring white models with images of African women.

GHANA – Weave Ghana Limited, a player in the hair care industry, has unveiled a bold new look for its flagship Mega Growth product line, reinforcing its dedication to high-quality hair care solutions tailored specifically for African women.

The launch event—organized in collaboration with professional hairdressers and salon owners—showcased the refreshed packaging and introduced the brand’s new “Relax Right” campaign to promote safer and healthier hair treatment practices nationwide.

The revamped packaging marks a significant shift. It replaces earlier visuals featuring white models with images of African women, placing the brand’s core consumers front and centre.

Angela Ayishetu Baba, Marketing Lead for Weave Ghana Limited—the company behind Mega Growth and Darling Hair—emphasized that this rebrand is about authenticity and representation.

“In this era where we’ve become the number one hair care brand in Africa, we want our products to resonate with the African woman truly,” said Baba.

“The new design is simplified for better readability and consumer convenience. Most importantly, it celebrates African beauty.”

Additionally, the packaging now features a practical twin-pack format that combines the relaxer and neutralizing shampoo, streamlining the process for salon professionals.

Empowering professionals with the ‘Relax Right’ campaign

At the heart of the relaunch is the “Relax Right” campaign—a nationwide educational initiative focused on safe hair relaxing techniques.

In partnership with hairdressing associations, Mega Growth will roll out training workshops to reduce common hair relaxer issues such as scalp burns, breakage, and damage.

“Hair relaxing is a professional service that demands proper technique,” Baba explained.

“To support this, every Mega Growth relaxer kit now includes a complimentary neutralizing shampoo to stop the chemical process and promote healthy hair growth.”

The launch drew praise from salon professionals and industry leaders, underscoring the importance of ongoing training and professional development.

“The hairdressing business is rooted in skill and knowledge. Clients trust us with their hair, and it’s essential to stay informed and skilled,” one stylist noted.

Bernice Asantewaa Asante, a representative of local hairdressing associations, highlighted that members routinely undergo bi-weekly training and NVTI (National Vocational Training Institute) proficiency exams to ensure they remain updated on best practices.

With its updated packaging and empowering campaign, Weave Ghana Limited is elevating its brand and championing safer, more professional hair care across Ghana.
