The Recleo brand complements the Borcycle M portfolio of premium mechanically recycled polyolefins.

AUSTRIA – Material manufacturers Borouge and Borealis have rolled out Recleo, a new global brand dedicated to mechanically recycled polyolefins.
This initiative brings together post-industrial and post-consumer recyclates alongside specialized compounds under one streamlined portfolio.
The move aims to simplify how industries incorporate recycled materials into their operations.
The Recleo lineup includes polyolefin recyclates and compounds tailored for key sectors such as mobility, building and construction, household appliances, infrastructure, and consumer goods.
These materials stem from verified post-industrial recycled (PIR) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic waste streams, ensuring traceability from source to end-use.
Several items in the series carry RecyClass certification and adhere to the IATF 16949 quality management standard, which supports automotive-grade reliability.
Youssef Taha, senior vice-president of marketing and innovation at Borouge, said Recleo expands customer access to certified recycled materials at scale.
He noted that consolidating the recycled portfolio under one brand helps customers integrate circular materials more easily into existing production systems.
This brand builds on the companies’ existing Borcycle M offerings, which focus exclusively on post-consumer plastic waste.
Recleo materials can pair with virgin polyolefin grades to increase recycled content in processes like film production and extrusion.
The firms emphasize secure supply chains and consistent quality as core elements of the launch, with availability spanning global markets.
In a statement, Borouge and Borealis explained that Recleo addresses evolving regulatory requirements, including the European Union End-of-Life Vehicle Regulation (ELVR) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
These rules push for higher recycled content in vehicles and packaging, creating demand for reliable recyclate sources.
Dirk Langhammer, vice-president of circular economy solutions at Borealis, added that the brand reorganizes a key segment of their mechanically recycled portfolio.
He highlighted how it unites fit-for-purpose grades into a global offering, making sustainability practical across applications without added costs.
The introduction of Recleo supports the reuse of end-of-life plastics via certified mechanical recycling methods.
