Cosmo First introduces cutting-edge Metalised Electrical Grade BOPP Films

INDIA – Cosmo Films, a global frontrunner in specialty films catering to packaging, labeling, synthetic paper, and lamination applications, has recently introduced Metalized Electrical grade BOPP films for Capacitor applications.

These films serve the manufacturing needs of various types of AC and DC Capacitors, finding extensive utility across diverse sectors including electronics appliances, industrial applications, power electronics, automobiles, electric vehicles, and renewable power systems.

Manufactured under pristine clean room conditions, these metalized capacitor-grade films exhibit micro-slitting capability, offering a thickness range spanning from 2.5 microns to 12 microns.

Commenting on this launch, Mr. Kulbhushan Mallik, Global Business Head at Cosmo Films, stated, “At Cosmo Films, we take pride in pioneering industry-first solutions over the past four decades.

“This strategic introduction perfectly aligns with Cosmo Film’s vision of fortifying our global leadership in specialty films by delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.”

The government’s keen emphasis on fostering self-reliance, as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme, prominently features initiatives in electronics manufacturing and exports. Capacitors, being pivotal components within the electronics ecosystem, significantly bolster this government initiative.

The current scenario witnesses considerable imports of these electrical-grade capacitor films, primarily sourced from countries like China.

With an escalating demand for high-quality Capacitor Grade Films, a substantial potential emerges for these films in both domestic and export markets.

Cosmo Films currently possesses an installed capacity of approximately 750 MT per annum for these Metalized Films, with plans underway to amplify the scale of this product category in the future.

Meanwhile, in October, Cosmo First launched a new business division, Cosmo Plastech. The company said the move aligns with its vision of offering a diverse range of packaging solutions to its partners for a wide array of FMGC products, providing enhanced supply chain efficiency.

Cosmo Platech’s containers are well-designed, offer excellent charity and are manufactured to serve the food and beverage industry especially.

Prioritizing product recyclability, Cosmo Plastech has also introduced a recycling program to ensure the packaging solutions don’t reach landfills, fostering a culture of positive change and contributing to a circular economy.

Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Poddar, Group CEO, Cosmo First said, “We, at Cosmo First, have proudly pioneered industry-first solutions for the past four decades.
