CHINA – CR Beverage, one of China’s top bottled water brands, has expanded its production capacity by investing in three complete, high-speed aseptic lines from Sidel.
This move aims to meet rising consumer demand for high-quality, healthier, and more sustainable packaging solutions for teas, juices, and carbonated drinks.
CR Beverage is not only a leader in water packaging but is also dedicated to diversifying its beverage portfolio to align with the projected 4.6% compound annual growth rate for 2023-2027, as reported by Global Data.
After an eight-year collaboration with Sidel, including the successful deployment of Sidel’s innovative solutions for large-format water production, CR Beverage once again partnered with Sidel for its aseptic production needs.
Installations at Yixing and Chengdu plants
At CR Beverage’s Yixing and Chengdu plants, Sidel installed three state-of-the-art aseptic complete lines to enhance production efficiency and versatility.
These installations underscore CR Beverage’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to meet the growing demand for high-quality beverages.
The first system, the Aseptic Combi Predis FMa, is specifically designed to produce tea and plum juice.
This solution ensures that these beverages are processed and packaged under aseptic conditions, preserving their taste and nutritional value while maintaining the highest food safety standards.
The second system, the Aseptic Combi Predis FMac, is engineered to handle a broader range of beverages, including high- and low-acid products and carbonated drinks.
This line is highly adaptable, accommodating different packaging requirements with options for 28 and 38 bottle neck sizes.
Its flexibility allows CR Beverage to cater to diverse consumer preferences while maintaining operational efficiency.
The Chengdu plant features four EvoDECO labelers and advanced conveyors. The lines achieve impressive production speeds of 54,000 bottles per hour (bph) for 450ml bottles and 27,000 bph for 1L formats.
CR Beverage’s Vice President praised the collaboration, stating, “We have successively introduced bottled water lines and aseptic lines from Sidel, all of which have been successfully put into production.
“The aseptic lines passed validation on the first attempt and achieved rated capacity as scheduled, showcasing Sidel’s professionalism and technological synergy.”
Aseptic Combi Predis: A simple, fast, and reliable solution
Sidel’s Aseptic Combi Predis technology revolutionizes perform decontamination using dry hydrogen peroxide mist.
This innovative approach significantly reduces water and chemical usage, making it an efficient and environmentally friendly solution for beverage production.
Eliminating the need for traditional wet sterilization processes enhances operational efficiency while lowering resource consumption.
A key advantage of this technology is its ability to ensure food safety and extend the shelf life of sensitive products without relying on preservatives.
This is particularly crucial in today’s market, where consumers demand natural and healthier products.
The Aseptic Combi Predis creates a sterile environment for filling and capping, preserving product integrity and quality throughout its lifecycle.
The technology also delivers substantial sustainability benefits by minimizing its environmental footprint. Its optimized design reduces resource usage and achieves the lowest total cost of ownership, making it an economically viable choice for manufacturers.
With its efficiency, safety, and sustainability combination, the Aseptic Combi Predis sets a benchmark in modern aseptic production.
These systems ensure a sterile filling and capping environment, meeting the highest safety and sustainability standards.
The three lines were operational within 90 days, achieving a 100% one-time pass rate for aseptic validation. Produced at Sidel’s Beijing plant, these lines mark a significant achievement for CR Beverage and Sidel.
Local expertise and leadership
In 2024, Sidel’s Aseptic Predis local production and the establishment of its aseptic laboratory in Beijing celebrated their fifth anniversary.
Over five years, Sidel has delivered over 20 Aseptic Predis Combi systems across China and Asia.
Tang John, Sidel’s Execution Project Management Director for Greater China, highlighted, “All aseptic complete lines installed in China in 2024 passed validation tests with outstanding results.
“This reflects our commitment to excellence and leadership in aseptic technology, setting us apart from global and local competitors.”
