Duni Group acquires LinePack to bolster food packaging capabilities

The move is expected to double Duni Group’s food packaging revenue in Finland.

FINLAND – Duni Group, a leading provider of dining and food packaging solutions, has acquired an 80% stake in LinePack, a Finnish specialist in automated packaging systems for the food industry.

The acquisition strengthens Duni’s Food Packaging Solutions division and expands the technological depth of its Duniform brand.

The move is expected to double Duni Group’s food packaging revenue in Finland, positioning the company to offer a broader and more technically advanced portfolio to customers seeking sustainable and efficient packaging systems.

Nicklas Lauwell, Chief Officer of Food Packaging Solutions at Duni Group, stated, “LinePack has built a strong position through technical excellence and close customer relationships.

“By becoming part of Duni Group, LinePack gains access to resources and networks that can further accelerate its development. For us, this is a strategically important step to grow in an area where demand for sustainable and efficient solutions is rapidly increasing.”

LinePack brings expertise in the design, installation, maintenance, and provision of spare parts for automated food packaging equipment.

With an annual turnover of approximately €2 million (US$2.2 million) and a team of six employees, the company is poised to scale rapidly under the Duni umbrella.

Sami Mäenpää, CEO of LinePack, commented, “Joining Duni Group gives us access to a larger customer base, broader market channels, and resources that will enable us to grow faster and deliver even more value to our customers.

“We look forward to combining our technical expertise with Duni Group’s strengths to drive the development of next-generation packaging solutions.”

Logistics expansion in Germany

In a related strategic move, Duni Group announced plans in September to develop a new warehouse and distribution hub in Meppen, Germany, as part of a broader effort to enhance its logistics capabilities and operational scalability across Europe.

The new hub will consolidate storage, distribution, and value-added services into one location, optimising the company’s supply chain.

Meppen was chosen for its strategic proximity to Duni’s existing facilities in Bramsche/Osnabrück and its suitable infrastructure.

Johan Crusefalk, Chief Logistics and Technology Officer at Duni Group, noted, “The new warehouse in Meppen will be transformational to Duni Group’s logistics solution in Europe.

“The redesign of the warehouse will enhance competitiveness and scalability, as well as contributing to our net-zero target.”

The company has partnered with CEVA Logistics, a global logistics provider operating in 170 countries, to manage the facility’s development and handle inbound and outbound distribution.

Operations at the Bramsche/Osnabrück site will continue, maintaining its role as a key production hub for full-pallet outbound logistics.

The transition will not affect production or logistics personnel, and discussions have already begun with the local workers’ council to support the transition of approximately 220 warehouse employees.

Distribution from the new Meppen facility is scheduled to begin in 2026, with financial details regarding restructuring costs and anticipated efficiency gains to be disclosed in future financial statements.
