UK – Climate Change Charity organization, Ashden has named London Cycling Campaign CEO, Ashok Sinha as its next CEO.
Ashden widens access to clean and affordable energy, empowering UK schools and local authorities to reach net zero carbon emissions and accelerating natural climate solutions around the world.
Ashden Founder and Chair of Trustees Sarah Butler-Sloss said: “Myself, the Ashden team and our trustees are delighted to announce that our next CEO will be Ashok Sinha.
“Ashok brings with him a wealth of experience in environmental, sustainable development and justice issues in the UK and the Global South, having worked in these areas for over 30 years.”
Sinha holds a Ph.D. in renewable energy and has driven landmark campaigns such as Make Poverty History, The Jubilee Debt Campaign and Stop Climate Chaos (now the Climate Coalition).
More recently, he has led transformational work making London a healthier and greener city, as CEO of the London Cycling Campaign and the Chair of the London Sustainable Development Commission.
Butler-Sloss continued: “Ashok has the deep understanding and expertise to help Ashden meet its ambitious mission to accelerate transformative climate solutions and build a more just world.”
Dr. Sinha will start his role at the London-based charity in June when he will replace interim CEO Giles Bristow, Ashden’s Director of Programs.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Sinha said: “I’m thrilled and honored to be appointed as Ashden’s next CEO, and to be given the opportunity to build on the fantastic progress that the previous CEO, staff and trustees have achieved.

PPG names Rodolfo Ramirez as GM of Packaging Coatings
Aluminium and steel beverage can manufacturer PPG Packaging has appointed Rodolfo Ramirez as general manager of its Global Packaging Coatings business, effective 1 April.
Ramirez was formerly the global coatings services general manager in PPG’s Industrial Coatings business but will now drive innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable internal coatings across various PPG segments.
In his new role, he will provide global strategic and operational leadership for the Packaging Coatings business, assuming that responsibility from Amy Ericson, who has moved to a new role in PPG’s Protective and Marine Coatings business.
Ramirez will partner with customers to build strong relationships while driving innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable internal coatings and brilliant external coatings across the beverage, food and personal care segments.
PPG global Industrial Coatings senior vice-president Kevin Braun said: “I am very pleased to welcome Rodolfo to this important role.
Ramirez said: “I am looking forward to working with industry stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions to the packaging industry and showing the industry how capable PPG is of creating mutual value through innovation.”
