GERMANY – Koehler Paper has reinforced its leadership in premium digital printing with its ICEWHITE IQ paper, specifically designed for top-tier digital printing applications.
Developed with modern digital presses in mind, ICEWHITE IQ delivers exceptional print quality—characterized by bold colors, crisp contours, and vivid, high-resolution output.
Following the success of its existing 32 x 46 cm format, Koehler Paper has expanded the product range to include a new 50 x 70 cm size in both short and long grain formats.
This addition is tailored to meet the HP Indigo 12000 digital press requirements, making it ideal for a wide range of high-end applications such as brochures, catalogs, and personalized marketing materials.
The new size is available in grammages ranging from 90 to 340 gsm, with orders starting at a minimum of one pallet.
ICEWHITE IQ is widely recognized as the paper of choice for various digital presses, including HP Indigo, Xeikon, and Xerox systems—thanks to its natural finish and consistent print performance.
Last month, the company’s subsidiary, Koehler Paper introduced an innovative paper-based packaging solution for pack&satt, a ready-to-eat (RTE) meal provider.
This marks the first time Koehler has used its NexPlus Advanced flexible packaging paper in a commercial food packaging application.
The NexPlus Advanced paper provides excellent protection for pack&satt’s “einpott” RTE meals, effectively blocking oxygen, mineral oil, and grease.
According to Alexander Rauer, head of business development for Koehler’s flexible packaging division, the primary focus during development was to ensure recyclability while maintaining high product protection standards.
“The result is a packaging paper that can be conventionally recycled and reused multiple times,” Rauer explained.
pack&satt, known for its RTE meals in Tomate Linse, Curry Linse, and Rote Bete Kartoffel flavors, initially packaged its products in returnable glass jars.
However, customer feedback and an internal review prompted the company to explore more sustainable alternatives.
According to Sophie Gnest, founder of pack&satt, customers frequently mentioned that if they had an electric kettle, they likely had bowls or cups available, making the glass jars unnecessary.
“Switching from glass to paper significantly improves our environmental footprint. When we discovered Koehler’s solution, we knew it was the right fit for our needs,” Gnest said.
