INDIA – Pashupati Group, a leading plastic waste recycling company, has partnered with SABIC, a global chemical industry pioneer, to advance recycling solutions in India.
Through this collaboration, both entities will leverage their expertise to optimize recycling processes, innovate value-added products using virgin and recycled polyolefin, and develop eco-friendly packaging solutions for SABIC.
Pashupati Group will contribute its extensive knowledge in mechanical and chemical processing of used plastics, utilizing its advanced recycling capabilities. Meanwhile, SABIC will focus on marketing and sales of recycled products, leveraging its global reach and market leadership.
The partnership also includes an advanced recycling project aimed at converting used plastic into pyrolysis oil. This innovative approach will enable SABIC to produce certified circular polymers with properties equivalent to virgin plastics, thereby enhancing sustainability in the industry.

In related news, Greiner Packaging and Plastic Bank have extended their partnership to collect plastic waste from coastal areas in the Philippines. Since the project began, the collaboration has removed 610 tonnes of plastic from the natural environment.
Plastic Bank aims to establish ‘ethical recycling ecosystems’ through five collection points in Manila, providing incentives to collectors to bolster their income.
The collected materials are reprocessed and reintroduced into the global manufacturing supply chain, with Plastic Bank referring to the recycled material as ‘Social Plastic’.
