The all-in-one system involves chilling, carbonization, and capsule-based dispensing, which is thought to unlock an unlimited selection of hot, cold, and carbonated beverages, replacing bottled and canned drinks

NETHERLANDS – Founteyn, a startup specializing in beverage dispensing technology, has secured over US$20 million in Series A funding and entered a commercial partnership with PepsiCo and SodaStream.
This collaboration integrates a range of PepsiCo beverage brands into Founteyn’s patented all-in-one system, which handles chilling, carbonation, and capsule-based dispensing for hot, cold, and sparkling drinks.
The technology aims to replace traditional bottled and canned beverages, potentially reducing single-use packaging by up to 80% and cutting CO2 emissions in half.
The oversubscribed funding round included a US$22.8 million investment from APG on behalf of ABP, with contributions from equipment manufacturers Flying Fish and Leysern Aquacore.
Founteyn will collaborate with co-packer Euro-Caps to produce and fill beverage capsules at scale.
For its initial pilot distribution, the company partners with Culligan Quench, leveraging the latter’s expertise in water technology and global network.
The system targets offices and small-to-medium enterprises first, addressing needs for workspace efficiency and corporate sustainability requirements.
Future expansion plans include household applications.
Founteyn plans a U.S. launch soon and intends to open a Series B funding round in late 2026 or early 2027.
Boyd Mulder, founder and CEO of Founteyn, stated in a release that the funding shows the beverage industry welcomes change.
He explained that the system produces fresh drinks without compromising taste and eliminates the need for ordering, stocking, or storing cans and bottles.
Mulder added that partnerships with PepsiCo and Euro-Caps will change how brands reach consumers and how businesses serve employees and customers.
In related developments, other companies have explored similar dispensing solutions. For instance, Kraft Heinz introduced an IoT-enabled digital sauce dispenser in 2023 for customizable flavors.
Diageo and Smirnoff extended trials of a smart keg system for pubs to reduce single-use glass.
PepsiCo also partnered with the San Francisco 49ers to deploy reusable cups at Levi’s Stadium, a program expected to eliminate tens of thousands of disposable cups.
