BELGIUM – Spectra Packaging has partnered with Belgian personal care brand Favorite Family to supply sustainable bottles for its new Prebiotic Body Wash.
The brand has selected Spectra’s 200 mL Tubular bottle paired with a Disc-Top closure—both made using prevented ocean plastic (POP)—to reflect its environmental commitment.
The bottle incorporates recycled high-density polyethylene (rHDPE) derived from POP, while the closure features 35% recycled polypropylene also sourced from ocean-bound plastic waste.
POP is collected from vulnerable coastal regions to prevent it from entering the ocean, making it a material of growing importance in sustainable packaging.
Damian Amies, Export Business Development Manager at Spectra Packaging, commented, “It’s been a pleasure supporting Favorite Family with their Prebiotic Body Wash launch. The brand’s dedication to the planet and people is clear, and POP was a natural fit.”
To enhance the product’s visual appeal, Spectra color-matched the external packaging to the bottle and decorated it with a two-pass silk screen print. The pack also prominently displays the POP logo, underscoring its eco-credentials.
Favorite Family’s Prebiotic Body Wash features natural, biodegradable ingredients and supports Go Ocean, a non-profit working to restore marine ecosystems by planting coral reefs.
Spectra notes that the brand is expected to expand its sustainable product offerings in the coming year.
POP packaging in high demand
Spectra’s POP packaging solutions have seen a notable rise in demand as brands respond to growing consumer concern about plastic pollution.
Just last month, Spectra supplied Scottish Fine Soaps with 300 mL and 500 mL POP and post-consumer recycled (PCR) bottles for its 50th anniversary Sea Kelp range.
These bottles were enhanced with a bespoke color gradient design, achieved through a high-mesh screen printing process on natural and translucent bottles, emphasizing the brand’s luxury positioning.
John Pymar, Customer Services Representative at Spectra Packaging, remarked, “Achieving the gradient effect on PCR bottles was a rewarding challenge, and we’re thrilled with the results.
“This project highlights our ability to merge sustainability with high-end aesthetics, delivering packaging that makes an impact both visually and environmentally.”
Trisha Wood, Designer at Scottish Fine Soaps, added, “We wanted a premium, sustainable bottle that stood out on the shelf while aligning with our commitment to eco-friendly packaging. “Spectra delivered the perfect solution with a beautifully executed gradient print that enhances the overall design.”
With POP and PCR packaging at the core of these projects, Spectra continues to drive innovation in sustainable, eye-catching solutions for the personal care sector.
