The ABG InkJet has been designed to deliver precision, versatility and speed.

ENGLAND – A B Graphic International (ABG), a leading manufacturer of finishing equipment, has launched the ABG InkJet, a single-color print bar module designed for direct integration into its Digicon, Converter, SRI, and B5010 Booklet Machine systems, as well as third-party setups.
This addition expands ABG’s capabilities in variable data printing and enhances production lines for labels and packaging.
The module targets applications like multi-layer labels, security features, barcodes, and pharmaceutical labeling, with resolutions up to 720 DPI for sharp output.
Engineered for precision and speed, the ABG InkJet features tool-less installation that cuts operating costs and supports web widths from 160mm to 430mm.
Its wasteless setup process minimizes material use, promoting efficiency in high-volume runs. Users can print directly onto adhesive layers, enabling new designs for functional labels without added substrates.
When paired with ABG’s fleyeVision inspection system, it ensures consistent quality and reduces defects in real-time.
In a statement, ABG highlighted the module’s role in sustainable operations, noting its compact design allows easy retrofitting into existing lines.
This setup supports shorter runs with less downtime, aligning with demands for eco-friendly production in the packaging sector.
The technology also drives the ABG Braille module, which applies high-build varnish for tactile text and warning symbols compliant with industry standards.
By handling varnishes of different viscosities without cleaning during changes, it speeds up jobs and cuts waste further.
Both modules are produced at ABG’s Baesweiler facility in Germany, part of an expanding InkJet lineup.
Additional modules in this series will debut in 2026, building on current models to offer more customization options.
An open house at the site on April 15-16, 2026, will showcase live demos, factory tours, and previews of upcoming tech.
The launch coincides with ABG’s introduction of the FlexPack division in 2026, which will produce pouch machines, thermal lamination systems, and digital embellishment tools at the same German plant.
This move rounds out ABG’s flexible packaging offerings, from coating to pouch assembly, for converters seeking end-to-end solutions.
Michael Leidgschwendner, managing director of ABG GmbH and head of the InkJet project, stated: “The new InkJet range gives customers a versatile, high-performance system that integrates seamlessly with any ABG system or third-party equipment.”
He added that providing all components from one supplier streamlines production and opens opportunities in variable data and functional printing.
This innovation arrives alongside recent sustainable packaging developments, such as Mondi’s November 26 unveiling of an advanced kraft paper machine at its Czech Republic mill.
The equipment boosts production of recyclable paper-based materials, supporting the shift toward lower-impact alternatives in labeling and flexible packs.
