USA – The Alkaline Water Company, the country’s largest independent alkaline water company and the Clean Beverage company has announced a new co-packing partnership in New York.
A1 Beverages, which owns and operates the bottling and labeling facility in the town of Halcott, recently completed a new packaging and bottling production line and has plans to further expand capacity in 2024.
The partnership is important to The Alkaline Water Company for both the continued growth of the Alkaline88 brand in the northeastern region of the US and further progress on the Company’s pathway to profitability by reducing costs associated with outbound shipping in that region of the country.
Frank Chessman, President and CEO of The Alkaline Water Company said: “Over the past two years, we have strategically grown a network of co-packers to improve efficiencies, meet demand, and reduce shipping costs.
“A1 Beverages will be an important producer of Alkaline88, and their addition as a partner in New York further strengthens our capacity, capabilities, and cost efficiencies in the Northeast.”
A1 Beverages president and CEO Lloyd Preston added: “With the increased production capacity that A1 provides, we will work together to stay ahead of demand as Alkaline88 continues to carve out more market share in the northeast and other regions.”
This partnership comes at a time when water brands are increasingly adapting their packaging to meet sustainable standards.
In 2021, North American healthy lifestyle brand Life Time announced a commitment to removing plastic bottles from its operations in the US and Canada by September 6 of the same year.
The company, which operates more than 150 athletic resorts in 41 major markets across the continent, said the move would save more than 1.6 million plastic bottles a year through this initiative.
Life Time also announced the launch of aluminium bottles for its own-brand natural alkaline spring water as an alternative to plastic bottles.
The company collaborated with sustainable water bottle company Proud Source to launch the branded water product.
In the same year, FloWater, which produces water refill stations, said that it was on course to eliminate a billion single-use plastic bottles by the end of 2022.
Since its foundation in 2013, the company has successfully stopped more than 350 million single-use plastic water bottles from entering the environment.
FloWater’s refill stations are currently installed at thousands of locations in the US and abroad, including hotels, gyms, schools, concert venues and film sets.
The company provides three proprietary water products, namely refill stations, faucet filters and recyclable aluminium bottles.
