Digital Etikett unveils investment in HP Indigo 200K for flexible packaging push

This was announced during Labelexpo Europe 2025, marking a significant milestone in the Norwegian label printer’s expansion.

NORWAY – Norwegian label specialist Digital Etikett has revealed a key investment in the HP Indigo 200K Digital Press, a move that opens doors to the flexible packaging sector.

Known for quick-turnaround short-run labels and reliable service, the company aims to handle growing client needs in this area.

The new equipment delivers high-speed on-demand production with reduced waste, fitting the demands of brands focused on efficiency and eco-friendly outputs.

The HP Indigo 200K supports a range of applications, from large labels to shrink sleeves, allowing Digital Etikett to expand its operations without major overhauls.

According to company details, this setup enables full control over the production process, from design to final output, which helps meet tight deadlines while keeping material use low.

The press runs at speeds up to 30% faster than earlier models, handling mid-web formats that suit emerging market segments.

In a statement, Kjetil Hovland, CEO of Digital Etikett, explained the rationale behind the choice.

“Flexible packaging now forms a fast-expanding part of our operations, and with orders on the rise, we required more capacity,” he said.

Hovland added that the technology maintains the quick delivery and low-impact methods clients rely on, without disrupting core label work.

He also highlighted the return to Visutech for maintenance, noting how nearby engineers and supply chains ensure steady uptime.

This deal renews ties with Visutech, the leading service provider in the Nordics for HP systems.

With the largest team of on-site technicians in the region, Visutech promises swift fixes and ongoing training.

Max Liljegren, sales executive for labels and packaging at Visutech, welcomed the collaboration.

He described Digital Etikett’s staff as proactive explorers of fresh ideas and said the firm stands ready to back their growth through specialized support.

In Norway, firms like Elopak continue to advance carton-based alternatives, reporting Q2 2025 revenues of $314.5 million from low-emission designs.

HP itself marked over 400 global installs of its flexible presses at the event, showcasing add-ons like slitters for varied formats.
