INDIA — Heidelberg India has successfully installed the MK Masterwork Ecocut 106 CS die-cutting and stripping machine at Saroj Art Printers in Mumbai, marking the first such installation in India.
The milestone strengthens Heidelberg’s position in the country’s fast-evolving print and packaging segment, particularly in the pharmaceutical space.
Saroj Art Printers, a leading supplier of pharmaceutical packaging, operates a dedicated unit for mono cartons and folding cartons, catering to both domestic and multinational pharma companies.
The new Ecocut 106 CS will enhance the company’s medium-run offset production capabilities, offering improved precision, speed, and waste management.
The machine features a built-in stripping station for internal waste removal, non-stop feeder and delivery systems for in-line quality checks, and quick make-ready capabilities to minimize downtime.
Compatible with a range of substrates, from thin paper to heavy carton boards, the Ecocut 106 CS offers flexibility for diverse packaging requirements.
“Our core focus is packaging and pharma printing, where precision and reliability are non-negotiable,” said Manoj Todi, Director of Saroj Art Printers.
“The MK Masterwork Ecocut 106 CS fits that need perfectly. Installing the first Ecocut machine in India is a proud moment for us and marks a decisive step in enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and innovation on our shopfloor.”
Heidelberg India oversaw the sales, installation, and after-sales support, underscoring its commitment to expanding post-press technology adoption across India’s print and packaging industries.
The company views the Ecocut 106 CS installation as part of its strategy to introduce high-performance, automation-ready finishing solutions to local converters.
The move comes amid growing investment in advanced die-cutting systems across Asia’s packaging sector.
In recent months, Bobst launched its Novacut 106 ER in India, offering inline blanking for folding carton producers, while Komori’s Lithrone GX40RP series continues to gain traction among converters seeking integrated print-and-die-cut solutions.
Similarly, Autoprint’s Repetto 1060 series has been adopted by several Indian packaging houses for its cost-efficiency and quick setup features.
With increasing demand for precision-driven, medium-run pharmaceutical packaging, Heidelberg’s Ecocut 106 CS installation positions Saroj Art Printers to deliver higher productivity and consistency, a critical advantage in a market defined by quality assurance and speed-to-market.
