Malhotra Printo Graphics expands digital capabilities with Canon investment

iPR V700 boasts speed, quality, and consistency in printing and production of graphic prints.

INDIA – Chandigarh-based Malhotra Printo Graphics has strengthened its premium wedding card production capabilities with the installation of a Canon imagePRESS V700, marking its first digital engine investment from Canon India.

The print house, known for bespoke and high-end wedding stationery, serves a wide clientele seeking customized invitation cards and related ceremonial products.

According to proprietor Amit Malhotra, the addition of the imagePRESS V700 plays a central role in enhancing both production flexibility and output quality.

“We are a one-stop shop for printing and production of wedding cards,” Malhotra said. “In addition to invitation cards, we produce shagun envelopes, wedding gift hampers and related items as per customer requirements.”

He noted that maintaining premium quality while managing productivity has been made possible through ongoing investment in advanced printing and post-press technologies.

“The Canon iPR V700 in our facility is a vital example of advanced and modern technologies which we persistently adopt for printing premium wedding cards,” he added.

Designed for commercial print environments, the imagePRESS V700 operates at speeds of up to 70 A4 pages per minute and delivers a resolution of 2,400 x 2,400 dpi.

The press supports a broad substrate range, from 52gsm lightweight papers to 350gsm heavyweight stocks, enabling the production of intricate, embellished wedding cards on diverse media.

The system’s format flexibility also supports SRA3, A3 and A4 sizes, along with long sheets up to 1,300mm, allowing Malhotra Printo Graphics to create multi-panel invitations and speciality inserts.

Its ability to print on textured media and unconventional materials such as canvas further expands creative options for premium wedding applications.

“The machine’s capability to print on textured media and unconventional materials like canvas helps us add new effects to wedding cards and other products,” Malhotra said.

The investment reflects a broader trend within India’s commercial print sector, where digital presses are increasingly adopted to meet demand for short runs, personalization and faster turnaround times, particularly in the lucrative wedding and events segment.

As consumer expectations shift toward bespoke, design-led products, print service providers are leveraging advanced digital platforms to differentiate their offerings while maintaining operational efficiency.
