USA – Novolex has announced an investment in Rhode Island-based reusable systems and container brand OZZI®.
Novolex has announced a strategic investment in OZZI®, a Rhode Island-based brand renowned for its reusable systems and containers.
Under this investment, Eco-Products®, a division of Novolex known for its circular solutions in the food service industry, will spearhead the expansion of OZZI’s offerings.
The OZZI family encompasses a range of products and solutions, including O2GO® containers, cups, and cutlery; OZZI Drop N’Go Collection Systems; an innovative OZZI Automated Collection Machine; and a comprehensive Kitchen Collection designed to support the washing, sanitizing, drying, and storing of returned reusables.
Notably, the O2GO containers have been rigorously tested by third parties and certified to withstand over 1,000 washes.
In environments like closed-system food service setups, where the proximity of dedicated return receptacles optimizes product reuse, reusable solutions like those offered by OZZI are particularly well-suited.
OZZI’s products are tailored for such settings as colleges, universities, corporate campuses, military bases, and hospitals, where it has established itself as a prominent partner in more than 400 dining environments.
Tom Wright, CEO and Founder of OZZI, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting the growing demand for effective reusable solutions and the company’s expertise in delivering scalable, reusable packaging systems over the past decade.
Central to OZZI’s solution is its innovative container collection and tracking system. Equipped with barcode technology for tracking, the O2GO containers seamlessly integrate with meal plan systems, offering convenience and efficiency.
The OZZI system operates independently and is compatible with leading campus meal plan systems, such as Atrium and CBORD.
Recently, OZZI announced a partnership with Atrium, which will enhance integration with various campus meal plan systems, including GrubHub, Dining Sidekick by Aramark, and Every Day by Sodexo.
President of Eco-Products, Ian Jacobson, emphasized the importance of reusable packaging within the spectrum of sustainable packaging options. He praised OZZI’s capability to support high levels of reuse and highlighted the synergies between OZZI’s technology and Eco-Products’ Zero Waste expertise.
Jacobson will join OZZI’s board of directors as part of the investment.
While the demand for reusable solutions in closed-system environments is rising across the United States, similar trends are observed in Canada and Europe, fueled by regulatory shifts towards reducing single-use plastic foodservice packaging.
Through its divisions like Vegware™ in the UK and operations in Canada and Europe, Eco-Products aims to bolster global demand for OZZI’s innovative solutions.
