USA – PakTech has unveiled its TwinKlip Applicator, designed to deliver precise, consistent, and automated application of TwinKlip Handles to products such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

This innovation aims to improve efficiency and streamline end-of-line operations for packaging.

The system sends bottles through the machine using a single-file conveyor, automatically applying one TwinKlip Handle per pair of bottles.

Capable of processing 12 bottles per batch at 10 cycles per minute, the TwinKlip Applicator offers a 15% overspeed capacity for short bursts, making it a versatile tool for packaging operations.

PakTech highlights several benefits of the new applicator, including time savings, reduced labor costs, and increased productivity.

One key feature is its ability to adjust for different products without compromising speed. Color-coded change parts, designed for easy swapping, are programmed with specific recipes that can be selected on the touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI), minimizing machine downtime during product changeovers.

The TwinKlip Applicator also features Klip magazines that double as loading tools, extending the runtime between reloads.

The machine is fully adjustable to accommodate different products and includes an HMI for recipe selection, operation, and troubleshooting.

An LED light bar indicates the machine’s status, and a bypass mode allows bottles to pass through without handle application when needed.

“The TwinKlip Applicator is the first commercially available automation equipment designed to apply TwinKlip Handles. It increases production line efficiency while reducing secondary packaging costs,” said Stephen Snider, application engineer at PakTech.

“This automated system allows staff to focus on more creative and value-added tasks and is compact and energy-efficient enough to fit in any packaging line.”

PakTech’s recycling initiatives

In addition to its packaging innovations, PakTech is expanding its sustainability efforts. The company recently announced a recycling collaboration with Endeavour Group to enhance a closed-loop recycling scheme for PakTech clips.

These clips, used in multipack beverage packaging, will be collected at Dan Murphy’s stores throughout Australia.

PakTech’s range of beverage can handles has been deemed recyclable under the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation’s (APCO) ARL program.

This initiative aims to recover, recycle, and reuse PakTech handles, helping reduce landfill waste and carbon emissions.

PakTech, a leading manufacturer of 100% recycled and recyclable secondary packaging, can produce up to 75 million recycled beverage can handles annually in Australia.

Its clients in Australia include Asahi, Billson’s, Hawkers Beer, and various craft beer, seltzer, and wine producers.

In the U.S., PakTech serves major consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies such as Pepsi, KraftHeinz, and Johnson & Johnson, with strong growth in sustainable multipack products.
