This packaging is designed to help food processors transition from traditional multi-material films to a more sustainable alternative.

USA – Sealed Air has introduced Cryovac VPP MonoPro, a new vertical form-fill-seal packaging option designed specifically for pumpable and fluid food products.
This innovation targets items like soups, sauces, purees, proteins, and syrups, offering a shift from conventional multi-layer films to a single-material structure.
Certified recycle-ready by Cyclos HTP, the pack maintains strong barrier performance to safeguard against contamination and spoilage.
The film incorporates minimal polyamide, with options at 0% or 10% content, and comes in both clear and colored formats.
It fits seamlessly into current vertical form-fill-seal equipment, allowing food processors to adopt it without major overhauls.
According to a company statement, these films deliver extended preservation for ambient and hot-fill processes, supporting diverse foodservice demands.
Sealed Air emphasized the practical benefits in a recent release. “These advanced films help preserve product freshness, prevent contamination, and significantly extend shelf life,” the firm noted.
This capability aids in cutting food waste by keeping products viable longer, a priority as global supply chains face pressure to minimize losses.
The company recently signed a deal for its acquisition by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice funds, valued at US$10.3 billion.
Separately, Sealed Air’s Cryovac line earned the Vegan Trademark for its Sealappeal range, substituting animal-based elements with plant-derived fats and hydrocarbon waxes.
This update caters to rising consumer preferences for ethical materials in everyday packaging.
. Nerida Kelton, vice president for sustainability and safe food at the World Packaging Organisation, noted in an interview that suitable alternatives for shelf-life extension remain limited.
She stressed the need for materials that prioritize food integrity, even if they complicate recyclability efforts at present.
