The move is aimed at making production processes more efficient.

USA – Siegwerk has expanded its long-standing collaboration with Seattle-based The Revere Group, with a focus on improving production efficiency and advancing sustainable packaging solutions.
As part of the extended partnership, The Revere Group has transitioned to Siegwerk’s low-migration SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC inks.
The switch is reported to have delivered higher press speeds, reduced downtime and more consistent output in Expanded Color Gamut (ECG) printing, helping to cut production waste.
Mark Revere, co-president of The Revere Group, said the move has generated measurable operational gains.
“The switch to Siegwerk’s low-migration inks has definitely paid off for us. They run faster and more cleanly on our press, improve uptime and reduce waste – an important factor when it comes to our sustainability.”
SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC inks are compatible with both UV and LED curing technologies, offering greater flexibility for converters.
By leveraging ECG printing, The Revere Group can now reproduce a broad spectrum of Pantone shades using a seven-colour ink set instead of the traditional four-colour process.
This reduces the need for frequent wash-ups between jobs, lowering solvent use, cutting changeover times and improving overall equipment effectiveness.
Siegwerk provided technical support to calibrate the new seven-colour system, enabling press operators to focus on productivity rather than troubleshooting.
The collaboration has also opened new pathways in sustainable packaging development, including the use of primers compatible with compostable substrates and recyclable mono-material structures.
The relationship between the two companies dates back to 1989, when The Revere Group first adopted Siegwerk’s water-based inks.
The latest development signals a deepening of that partnership at a time when food packaging converters face mounting pressure to balance performance, regulatory compliance and environmental targets.
Mike Hoft, regional sales manager at Siegwerk CUSA West, said the collaboration highlights how technical expertise and ink performance can drive measurable sustainability gains.
“Customers like The Revere Group challenge us to think differently – and that’s what makes the collaboration so valuable,” he said.
The announcement follows Siegwerk’s recent achievement of RecyClass Technology Approval for several products in its SICURA range of acrylic UV/LED-curable inks and varnishes.
The certification marks the first RecyClass approval granted to a UV-curable ink technology applied to polyethylene (PE) flexible packaging, underscoring the company’s push to align print performance with recyclability requirements.
