US – US-based packaging company Silgan Dispensing, a subsidiary of Silgan Holdings, has launched ReVive 2cc dispenser and ReVive 4cc dispenser as per the voluntary APR Design Critical Guidance Recognition Program requirements.
The new dispensers are based on LifeCycle Technology for enhanced sustainability and recyclability of dispensing solutions using patented plastic springs.
According to the firm, the dispenser can be created from a single polyolefin by swapping out the metal springs with these advanced plastic innovations, making it more compatible with the current recycling processes.
Silgan Dispensing personal care and home and garden marketing Director Stephanie Hawkins said: “We are extremely excited to begin showing ReVive 2cc and 4cc to customers.
“Pumps of these sizes are widely used in beauty and personal care markets and can be found on liquid hand soaps, skincare and body care lotions, and shampoos and conditioners.
“Offering recyclable solutions for such a broad range of consumer products provides our customers and us an opportunity to take a big step forward in our shared goal of sustainability.”
The company reiterates that both dispensers are acknowledged by APR as fulfilling or above its Critical Guidance Protocol and recyclable with HDPE and PET recycling streams based on independent laboratory tests.
The dispensers have also been accredited by RecyClass, receiving an A grade for their compliance with both recycling streams in Europe.
The firm said Revive 2cc has a consistent profile with a lock-up design and is suitable for a wide range of product compositions and viscosities of different lotions, liquid soaps, creams, and gels.
The dispenser is also ISTA 6A certified, which proves its survivability against common risks related to the shipping and delivery procedure for e-commerce, said Silgan.
ReVive 4cc offers brands many of the same advantages as its smaller sibling in this dispenser with a greater capacity.
The water ingression technology from Silgan Dispensing is a standard feature of ReVive 4cc and prevents bacteria development by keeping water out of the bottle.
The company claimed that the 4cc dispenser is e-commerce ready as it has obtained ISTA 6A accreditation.
Silgan supplies a wide range of triggers, pumps, sprayers and dispensing solutions, with recent innovations including its Mark VII Max Blossom propellant-free mist sprayer and Pearl 2 airless system, and has created packaging for the likes of Shiseido and Bondi Sands.
