ANDRITZ expands boiler technology portfolio with acquisition of Diamond Power International

USA – International technology group ANDRITZ has announced a strategic acquisition agreement with Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. (B&W) to purchase its Diamond Power International, LLC business, including subsidiaries and key manufacturing facilities in Lancaster, Ohio, USA and Dumbarton, Scotland, UK.

Diamond Power is a globally recognized designer and manufacturer of advanced boiler cleaning systems, with a legacy of over 120 years serving the pulp, paper, and power generation industries.

Operating in 15 countries and supported by a team of 400 specialized employees, Diamond Power generates annual revenues of approximately €100 million (US$113.98m).

This acquisition significantly strengthens ANDRITZ’s service capabilities in the recovery and power boiler market.

Diamond Power’s product line, which includes sophisticated sootblowers, monitoring systems, and automated cleaning technologies, complements ANDRITZ’s existing boiler solutions.

The move enhances ANDRITZ’s ability to offer comprehensive lifecycle services for boilers, a key area as fuel diversity and emission control standards continue to evolve.

Jarno Nymark, Executive Board Member at ANDRITZ responsible for the Pulp & Paper business, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, “With the variety of fuels increasing, cleaning the inside of recovery and power boilers is becoming more important all the time.

“This acquisition is driven by our commitment to providing customers with innovative solutions for the efficient and reliable operation of boilers throughout their lifecycle.”

Beyond its core cleaning systems, Diamond Power also offers a range of process optimization tools, including high-definition and infrared cameras, pyrometers for process gas temperature measurement, and thermal monitoring software — expanding ANDRITZ’s digital and automation portfolio.
